From the Catholic League News Release...
“Parents in Maine’s Scarborough School District say that efforts to ban Christmas have become so extreme that they now refer to Christmas as the new ‘C-word.’...
...“North Carolinians are no strangers to the ‘C-word,’ either.
At a recent Charlotte-Mecklenberg school meeting of parents, Rose Hamid, who heads a group called Muslim Women of the Carolinas, expressed her enthusiasm for censoring ‘Silent Night’ in the schools. She won."
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.............

People keep missing this - badly. It's not the ACLU. There are plenty of such groups. There are plenty of such leftie moles in positions of school principal and such. The problem isn't the ACLU - it's the courts. The law of the land should rule, not those who would subvert it by bad logic and 'good' cases. These judges should be throwing these cases out before they even reach the bench. The problem is the judges. Fix that, and you render both the ACLU and the ultra-leftwing schoolmarm irrelevant.
"Good for you, Diana! But maybe you should be careful with that candycane point. :) "
Actually, my sister and I used to do exactly that anytime we were given a candy cane. Both of us bear the scars of the other's "artistry," as it were. I went into the Army, she became a teacher. Good career choices for the sadistic at heart, LOL!
Oops! I just found a spot in my house that isn't yet covered in lights and tinsel; I'll check in with ya'll later, LOL!
I hate the ACLU and it's way past time to stop them. And if we don't stand up now this won't be our country any more with all this cultural diversity garbage. Inclusion is one thing, letting them take over is another, that includes the libs/socialists/communitist like these school boards, superintendents, principals, teachers etc.
You can join the fight against the ACLU and their ilk by becoming involved with and supporting the following organizations:
American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) - http://www.aclj.org
Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) - http://www.thomasmore.org
Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) - http://www.alliancedefensefund.org
The Rutherford Institute - http://www.rutherford.org/
Here are just a few recent examples of how two of those organizations are fighting back:
ADF Contacts Over 3,600 School Districts Over Attempts To Censor Christmas
ADF: 700 lawyers ready to fight ACLU lawsuits
ADF: Pentagons' Warning About Boyscouts Is Absurd
Thomas More Law Center: Town of Palm Beach Pays $50,000 In Attorney Fees Apologizes To Women In Nativity Lawsuit

The ACLU must be destroyed: Joseph Farah supports Boy Scouts, urges Americans to fight back
Citizens mobilized to stop ACLU (seeks to consign group to 'ash heap of history')
ACLU fulfilling communist agenda
I HATE this. Is there another planet nearby where I can go? I want to get off.
Are we up to the challenge? I have served on the PTA and a Condo Board. It's hard, time consuming, voluntary work.
While we are all inclined to vent our opinions, most are reluctant to run for public office. Mothers used to fill these parttime slots, but they now have full time jobs, any time left over belongs to their families.
Some liberal folks love the power & influence - that is why most regulatory boards, election boards and councils are filled with democrats.
Time to regroup and organize one small step at a time.
Time to go back to hand crafting our own decorations.
Why is the Christian majority in this country letting themselves get pushed around by these hate-mongers? These are not just isolated events, but a serious, coordinated attempt to wipe Christianity off the face of the Earth. We only need to turn the other cheek once, and then fight back.
I read in the WSJ that the Federated stores had negative growth for the Thanksgiving Day kick off of the Christmas shopping season. I have have been thinking of calling the local store and telling that they shouldn't be surprised that Christmas sales are down when they don't even celebrate Christmas.
Whenever someone says "Happy holidays" to me I respond with my new tagline.
When the thirty something clerk handed me my change she said, "Have a pleasant day."
I replied, Thank you, and Merry Christmas to you."
She then responded by leaning over the counter and whispering, "Me too, but I can't say it. The management expects us to say 'Happy Holidays' or if we don't like that we can say,'Have a pleasant day.'" Then she said,"I wish you a happy 25th of December."
How ironic that Cosco permits all the decorative items with Christmas messages on them to be sold in their stores.
Rose Hamid is no random, well-meaning activist. She is a well-known in-your-face Jesse-Jackson-style politico.
She moves in the "Coalition for Peace and Justice" crowd along with Rachel Corrie's Arafat-loving parents, etc.
Rose Hamid grew up Cleveland. Her father is a Palestinian, and her mother is a South American. Her mother brought her up as a Catholic, but her Dad's Muslim teachings eventually took hold. She went to college at Cleveland State. She converted to the Muslim in 1987. She works for US Air. She is an nth degree activist, openly speaking out in support of our enemies, yet she repeatedly refers to herself as "all-American". Barf.
BTW: She loves to tell people she's "published". The Char-Meck Socialists socialites just worship the ground upon which she walks.
They don't call Mecklenberg county a "Hornet's Nest" for no reason.
Egad!
Today I did a little shopping, and at one store when I was done purchasing and said "Merry Christmas" to the clerk, she looked bug eyed and said "Oh. Uh, same to you." real quick under her breath. At another store, the clerk said, "Uh, you too." There are no public displays of anything having to do with Christmas around here, only generic stuff about "wishes, holidays" etc. A few people in our neighborhood have nativity scenes on their lawns but out in public it is only gifts, winter magic and all sorts of secular/materialist themes.
Dear All,
Thank you for your responses.
To all who are Christmas shopping and who extend to store clerks a Merry Christmas: If you are informed by the clerk that they are not allowed to return the greeting, ask for the store manager, voice a complaint and ask for the address of the main office to complain about the policy of intolerance from the enterprise.
Join in the fight against the ACLU. Yes, oppose the activist judge appointments by staying informed. Become vocal through phone calls, letters and spreading of the information.
Inform building owners, doctors offices, etc., that you wish to see tolerance displayed towards your faith by seeing, not a Seasons Greetings banner, but by recognition through words of what this holiday is: Christmas.
Good luck to all.
We MUST be up for the challenge, for if we are not, we have no one to blame but ourselves for the contempt with which we are treated.
Thanks very much for these links...they are both encouraging and most useful.
Merry Christmas.
Excellent information. I was unaware of Hamid's background. Thank you for providing this...it will be most useful.
Merry Christmas.
This post has more to do with the outrage some voice at the widespread use of the term "happy holidays" as oppossed to merry christmas. Personally, I have no problem with happy holidays. Beyond that, I see the wisdom in the use of the phrase. My understanding is that Michigan has a huge Muslim population. Say for instance everyone used a phrase like Merry Christmas in reference to an Islamic holiday. Would you want to hear that as you leave Nordstrom or Saks Fith Avenue. Say for instance your kids' schools get a big Satanist population, would it be ok for their schools to use terms and phrases in reference to Satanic holidays? I wouldn't want any kids of mine exposed to that. Maybe in a country of diverse people "happy holidays" is not that bad in a public setting....
Thank you for your comments, but, they leave me a little puzzled (not an uncommon occurance). I think people who celebrate Christmas should have every right to wish each other, in private or in public, a "Merry Christmas." In places where celebrating Christians are the sizeable majority, holiday displays, even on public property, should be allowed and accepted without the whining of small minorities. Following your thread, I would have to add that, where Satinists are the sizeable majority, the same rule should apply, and their displays of ... what? ... pitchforks and broomsticks? ... should be equally allowed.
