Bill of Rights Day 2004
December 11, 2002 from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM
Pulliam Building 524 North Cleveland, Loveland

The 5th annual Bill of Rights Day Celebration in Loveland, Colorado was held on December 11, 2002 at the Pulliam Building 524 North Cleveland. The event went from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM.

The evening began with a potluck dinner at 5:30 PM, featuring a multitude of fine dishes, featuring several delectable chili offerings. After dinner, we discussed the past, present and future of the Bill of Rights. This year the theme was 'What were the Founding Fathers thinking? What were their beliefs? What has happened to America? What can we do to bring our country back to the greatness we once enjoyed?

Throughout the evening as guests arrived they were invited to decorate the un flag outside the door with whatever they deemed proper. It became rather obvious that those in attendance have little respect for the low life organization. The banner was covered with fertilizer from various animals, cigarette butts, used baby diapers, putrid ingredients from a compost pile and someone even threw on a dollar bill to contribute to the Oil for Food program.

We discussed several ways to dispose of the rag afterward including placing it in a highly visible intersection or dropping it off in front of the local newspaper office across the street. We even pondered the idea of packing it up and sending it to the un headquarters in New York, but figured we be trouble for sending biological weapons through the US mail. We ultimately decided not to cause any trouble and instead gave it a proper disposal in the dumpster.

There were several tables set up by a few local groups and the John Birch Society. The tables included the 'Committee for Conservative Christian Political Leadership'. This organization sets up tables in churches to get Christians involved in the public square. The Greeley Committee for the Defense of the Bill of Rights also had a table and Mary Ann baked a table full of goodies for a fundraiser for the organization.

The Northern Colorado Fife and Drum Corps had a table too where they sold t-shirts and their musical CD. George Flynn had a table with his CD called "Words of Freedom - Men of Honor".

The Fife and Drum Corps started off the evening with the Pledge and the National Anthem.

We had the great pleasure of hearing a reading of Patrick Henry's 'Give me Liberty or Give me Death' speech by George Flynn. George is an accomplished actor and has a radio show called 'Words of Freedom'.

Tom Buchanan was the MC for the evening and went on his usual rant about several topics that have been on his mind, including the immoral income tax and how secular humanism. He has written an article titled 'Scrabble Anyone' Which compares living under the religion of human secularism to playing Scrabble without a dictionary. He also went on about how the police make up their own laws as they see fit in an effort to make criminals out of all of us.

Next on the agenda was Mark Call who educated us on how the Declaration of Independence is the basis of law in America. He picked apart the Declaration, line-by-line and explained each line's influence on our laws.

Pastor Tom Barnes

Pastor Tom Barnes from the Living Hope Church in Ft. Collins gave a good talk on what the Founding Fathers were thinking as they formed a great nation. He seemed rather well informed and fit right in with the band of patriots gathered for the event. Tom spoke at the Christians in the Public Square event in Loveland in September and was a very dynamic and inspirational speaker.

Next up was John Opie from the Saturday morning radio show on KHNC 1360 called 'Out of the West. John made no bones about the dastardly intentions of the anti-Christian organization going by the name of the united nations. He also put on notice any elected official in the United States that supported the un; that they were indeed enemies of America.

John also gratefully donated the un rag for desecration.

The Northern Colorado Fife and Drum Corps awarded their second annual Patriot Citizen Award the Mr. Craig Weeks. Craig has been fighting the dreaded united nations for nearly 50 years. He has personally purchased thousands of pocket Constitutions that have been passed out at parades and events all over Colorado for the past several years. Craig was is well deserving of the award and lectured us on the use of silver and gold as spelled out in the Constitution and how we should honor the Lord in everything we do.

Along with the award, The Fife and Drum Corps also has a special tricorn hat made for the individual.

Tom Buchanan created a Marvin Heemeyer award and presented it to the Saturday morning 'Revolution' radio show. The Revolution radio show for cuts through the government BS every week like Marvin cut through the town of Grand Lake with his reinforced bulldozer earlier this year.

A memorial tribute was given to those patriots close to us that have gone on to greener pastures. Included were Erin Spoering, Ted Benglin and Alan Albertus. Zieg gave a tearful salute to his good friend Ted who was very instrumental in getting the Tyranny Response Team off the ground. Tom was a little chocked up as he talked about Alan and how he was always around videoing all of the events with a heart as big as all out doors.

Crystal beams with joy

Alan's wife Crystal was on had to receive her .243 Remington 700 barrel of her hunting rifle which which she thought was destroyed in the fire that took Alan's life. We passed the bucket to fund the purchase of a Leupold scope and the stock of her choice so that this Second Amendment Sister can hunt big game once again. We raised a remarkable $280 for the cause and the NC Fife and Drum Corps will pick up the balance of any additional charges. The rifle will be restored at To Cache La Poudre Rifleworks in Old Downtown Fort Collins.

Crystal also surprised us with some early versions of the TRT shirts that miraculously survived the fire with minimal damage.

We had a few people to sign up for the 5 minute speeches. As usual they wanted to speak longer. We cleaned up the place afterward and declared the evening a success.

I received a picture from Alan Glinski and just had to top off this year's report with it. It is Zieg, the Revolution Fasion Czar with his wonderful Mother Lee. She has accompanied Zieg at almost all of our patriot events for the past several years. Spend a few minutes with her and you will understand where Zieg gets his kind and caring attitude.

On the chair behind them is the TRT shirts that survived the fire.

Had to miss it because of work. Wish Mark could find time to do a radio show again.

Good job, Tom.

PS - The Revolution is a great show. I've especially enjoyed listening to Nick evolve from being Paul's sidekick to being a really good commentator in his own right.

Ha! I love the UN flag photo!

Did I tell you that the Leftists have once again returned to their former hangout across the street from our weekly "Support Our Troops Rally" at Mulberry & College? My guess is that they must have gotten confused and flown off to San Capistrano for all of last summer and fall, and have now returned to us at the start of winter. (Their homing instincts can get pretty messed up. Scientists think this is due to the fact that they inherit their migrational instincts partly from their lemming ancestors, with the rest coming from, er, ah, .... Avian-Brained ancestors, shall we say).

But anyway, I digress (as always). The reason I brought up the Leftists is that maybe 3 weeks ago, one of the friends of the Leftists (he's not a regular; he also happens to be married to a City Council member) came by and invited any of us who were interested to attend the upcoming organizational meeting of some new group that would be named "The United Nations Society of N. Colorado" or similar name. The purpose behind this new organization/club/whatever was to seek out ways of neutering the US in its role of world cop. (Well, he didn't use that exact phraseology).

He thought it would be good if someone with an alternative point of view would come to their meeting. Unfortunately the meeting was later that same day, so no time to find anyone interested. I did ping trteamer, who I know also owns his very own UN flag and is just as big a fan of it as you are. The UN guy was also going to email me about their new group, and I gave him my email address - which he wrote down on his hand. Never did get anything from him. But anyway, if I ever do get something about this UN Fan Club I'll be sure to let you know so you can get in on the ground floor (assuming you wouldn't want to instead tunnel under their basement and ...... never mind).

Just send them the photo and they will probably call you a UNaphobe. Remember, you heard that term here first.

Thanks for your post and the photos! I was born and grew up in Loveland, but moved away many years ago. My mom still lives there, though, so I get up there a few times a year. I'm happy to hear about your active and worthwhile organization!
