A CHRISTMAS GREETING
Christian-news-in-maine.com ^ | 16 Dec. 2004 | Danny Calhoun

I had intended to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, but then I read about the display of The Ten Commandments being ruled illegal again and saw on the news how the ACLU is filing lawsuits all over the country dealing with Christmas displays. I read where children in schools were not allowed to exchange "Christmas" cards, wish each other "Merry Christmas" or even sing "Christmas" Carols." I read where schools were forbidden to have "Christmas" Pageants or Programs. I even read where the children don't get a "Christmas" Break anymore. It's now ...

The final straw that raised my blood pressure to dangerous levels was when I watched the lighting of "The White House Christmas Tree." The Speaker Of The House announced at the ceremony that, "WE WILL NOW LIGHT THE PEOPLES TREE." They then lit the tree and immediately started playing the Christmas Carol, "Oh Christmas Tree." Excuse me,..."Peoples Tree?"

The more I thought about it the more I worried that by wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year that I was being Politically Incorrect, which just might bring the wrath of the ACLU and all the pathetic cowards who hide behind them down on myself.

As we all know, in this current atmosphere of Political Correctness I have to be sure not to offend anyone. I contacted my attorney and we came up with the following holiday greeting. I hope I've followed all the rules for Political Correctness and have not offended anyone.

A GREETING
"Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, low carb, smoke free celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of ...

I really want to say that is hilarious (the legal greeting), but it's just too, too sad as it is entirely too true.

To heck with PC - MERRY CHRISTMAS, everyone!!! And if you don't celebrate Christmas, MERRY CHRISTMAS ANYWAY!

I am sporting a "Merry Christmas" bumper sticker now.
First time in my life. Never thought it would come to this.

So come and get me! I'll go quietly...

Amen to his article.....I feel the same way and am not afraid to say so. We had better start standing up against the ACLU or this country is down the drain in short order.

We may be just a small online hick paper in the middle of one of the most liberal Christ hating, freedom/Republic hating, blue states, but we are fighting them tooth and nail.

Oh ya and I fogot to mention, we are, slowly, but surley, winning. Even though Maine only has a million people and even though Google dumped us, you can not find us on Google doing a search "Christian news in maine" we have still managed to get over 18,000 hits since August first of this year. We were fine till we ran this issue: http://www.christian-news-in-maine.com/august7-2004.htm than Google up and dumped us. Can't say it was because of that issue, but, we come up first on a Yahoo search, but nowhere in the first 70 pages on Google.

Was the night before Christmas and down at the Mall
Most of the movement had slowed to a crawl
The employees had gone home to family or friend
And even security knew their shift would soon end
When outside in the lot there was heard such a racket
I thought that the Baker had dropped what he'd stacked
A small girly girl in Christmas atire
Had caused the folks left to cheer higher and higher
Then over their heads to bloodshot eyes did appear
that saying that most unbelievers do Fear
Merry Christmas to All Peace on Earth to men of good will
Everyone else can drown in their swill

It's okay to say Merry Christmas:

"Merry Christmas. Believe It. Say It. Wear it!"

"can not find us on Google doing a search "Christian news in maine" "

Actually, you come up on the first page with that search, through a Free Republic thread.

Ya, I know, but only as a FR thread, no where on our own, around page 14 or so, our editors, Danny, Larry and Fredrick appear, but the paper itself is gone.
