(12/15/04) The Washington-DC based human rights organization, International Christian Concern (ICC), has just become aware of the arrest of Emad Alaabadi Saudi ID #1016523670, a Saudi national who recently converted to Christianity. Emad is a 30 year-old Saudi national (married with 4 children) that converted to Christianity approximately 2 years ago. Emad was arrested by the religious police in Hufus while driving his child home from school on Nov. 29, 2004. The police escorted him home where he dropped off his children and he was then imprisoned in Hufus. Since then he as been transferred to prison in Jeddah.
Emad contacted his mother in Australia on Dec. 4. She reported that he sounded very weak. If Emads case is like others, he has probably been tortured as the religious police attempted to reconvert to Islam.
We are also getting a report that Emad was not the only Saudi Christian arrested. We understand that there were 3-4 others arrested connected with Emads case and we will report their names as they are received.
His arrest is only the latest example in a long history of a Saudi zero-tolerance policy toward other faiths. This latest arrest only reinforces the State Departments naming Saudi Arabia as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) on Sept. 15th, 2004. The State Departments report on Saudi Arabia says that in Saudi Arabia, "religious freedom does not exist," and, "Non-Muslim worshippers risk arrest, imprisonment, lashing, deportation and sometimes torture for engaging in religious activity that attracts official attention."
ICC strongly recommends that concerned individuals contact the Saudi embassy to politely voice their concerns and ask for the release of Emad Alaabadi. Concerned individuals should also contact their elected representatives and ask them to voice their concern regarding the Saudis complete lack of religious freedom while pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into the building of mosques in this country.

Saudi Arabia is the primary site of the jihad cancer. Resection will be necessary to put an end to rampant, fulminating jihadism.

Saudi converts to Christianity are normally executed for blasphemy.
Saudi Arabia has "freedom of religion" by their lights, because non-muslims are allowed into the kingdom. Someone who has never believed in Mohammed is not guilty of anything under the law. They are not allowed to publicly practice any other religion, mind you, but they are allowed to live.
A muslim who converts, on the other hand, someone who once acknowledged Mohammed and now rejects him, is guilty of blasphemy. Blasphemy is punishable by death.
The catch is that if you repent, you go free. If you refuse to acknowledge Mohammed, you die.
Executions for "blasphemy" are very common in Saudi Arabia. That tells me that there are Saudis converting to Christianity there on a regular basis. Who else would refuse to repent of "blasphemy" when facing the swordsman?
Islam claims that there is no compulsion in religion, and any one can see what a lie that is.
