The Platte County coyote bounties have been raised from $20 to $30 effective Dec. 7.
The coyotes must be Platte County Animal Board District coyotes. The bounties include males, females and pups. Vouchers dated for Dec. 6th or before will bring $20; any dated Dec. 7th or after will be paid $30 per coyote. The animal must be a fresh kill and complete coyotes must be submitted to and marked by a Field Inspector. Disposal of the marked coyotes will be the responsibility of the person turning them in for bounty. Field inspectors are current board members, including, by area: Kit XXXX, South Platte County 422-XXXX; Clyde XXXXXX, Sybille Creek Area 322-XXXX; Doug XXXXXXXX, North Platte County 322-XXXX; Josh XXXXX, South of Wheatland 322-XXXX; Daryl XXXXXXX, Wheatland 322-XXXX; Dennis XXXXXX, Guernsey Area 836-XXXX or 836-XXXX No ears or carcasses will be accepted at the Platte County Predatory Animal Board meetings; vouchers only. Please contact a board member if you wish to set up a time to inspect coyotes.
Land owner permission slips must accompany animal vouchers and be submitted to the Platte County Predatory Animal Board at scheduled meetings. The land owner must control the land where the animal is killed. These lands will be considered to be in the Platte County Predatory Animal Board District.
The next board meeting will be held Monday, Jan. 3, 2005 at 7 p.m. For further information, please contact the Platte County Extension Office, 322-3667, or Clyde XXXXXX, president, 322-XXXX.
I "X'ed" out last names and phone numbers. The tree (coyote) huggers don't need any more information than they already have.

How can they tell?
I guarantee you that there won't be coyote attacks on pets or kids in this locale. Nasty animals, can't be reasoned with, but can be taught fear.
In the places where the tree huggers rule, coyotes will start to view all pets and day care centers as buffets.
Seems rather odd that PETA and the Dimocrat flocks aren't "adopting" these coyotes as pets.
Like most nof us, they are licensed. ;)

You beat me to it.
Ah. Nice to know that there's a place where even the wild predators have collars and ID tags. Hope they get their "shots" too ;)
Only because I didn't proof read. ;)
nof ?? What the heck is a nof?
I have no problem with killing those fiendish beasts. My cat some years ago joined the circle of life due to one of those merciless animals.
In Kansas in the early 70's it was $5/per pair. I made $25 on one Saturday. I usually get 10 to 15 Coyotes per year in South Alabama but there is no bounty.
For that kind of dough they certainly should. ;)
223 the way to go for critters? All I have is a 357 Cowboy II, which has enuff range to cover my land. I spose coyotes don't like either one.
I kinda like their howling at times. There's certainly something primal about it that scares the crap outta visitors to "the stix." They certainly think they've accomplished something if I set them up in a tent outside....kiddies think they survived The Blair Witch Camping Trip!
This is exactly the reason why my home county has not had a bounty system for many years. If you offer a reward for coyotes, people will bring you coyotes, and will find them wherever they can -- next county, next state...
The most effective means of control is to hire professional predator controllers. They are excellent shots, know how to work the paraphenalia of predator control, and end up being more economical.
