Statement from Dino Rossi

Bellevue, WA – Today Dino Rossi issued the following statement:

“This is supposed to be the season for Christmas and Hanukkah, not campaigns, but this year, unfortunately, we don’t yet have a governor-elect.

“Like many people across Washington, I’m very concerned about the integrity of this election process, and I’m also very concerned that not all votes are being treated equally.

“Earlier this week, I asked the Supreme Court not to change the rules of the recount. On Tuesday, however, the Supreme Court did change the recount rules, and allowed previously rejected ballots to be reconsidered.

“Many hundreds of previously rejected ballots in King County were counted, but there are hundreds more of wrongfully rejected ballots that remain uncounted. We have affidavits so far from 300 legal voters across Washington whose ballots were wrongfully rejected. The rules were changed for a select group of ballots in King County, but not for many other ballots all across the state. That is wrong. If the rules can be changed for a select group of voters in King County, then the new rules should apply to everyone, equally.

“Under the new rules established by the Supreme Court, if your vote was wrongfully thrown out through no fault of your own, your vote should be counted. Whether your signature was mistakenly challenged or whether you’re a member of the military who didn’t receive your ballot on time, your vote should count. Anything else is undemocratic.

“To make sure that every wrongfully disenfranchised voter has the opportunity to have his or her vote counted, we are going to take some time to follow up with county canvassing boards across Washington and ask those boards to reconsider wrongfully rejected ballots.

“I know many Washingtonians are hoping this will end soon, but I’m also sure that people across this state want a clean election and a legitimate governor-elect. At this point, we have neither.

“Finally, Terry and my children and I want to wish everyone a happy holiday season, and I again want to thank the people of Washington for their kind-hearted support.”

OTOH, election fraud has been occurring since our founders were alive. At least it's being challenged in different places, and sometimes successfully.

I just wonder if the Demonrats realized the can of worms they were going to open when they got the Washington State Supreme Crotch to write the New Rules For Closely Contested Elections Where The Demonrat Is Losing, and let those "Uncounted Disenfranchised" etc. etc. votes get counted... now they've really opened it up.

You raise an excellent point, and I do not believe they thought that far ahead.

When this is all over, and some day / month / year it will be, when we have an honest GOP governor, Washington has to come up with workable, fair election laws that will be enforced. This requires cleaning out the judiciary. And a good portion of the legislature.

Come to think of it, we need a few miracles here.

Of course, if Rossi wins in the long run by way of the state supreme court, Democrats will say that he was "selected not elected."

I've never been happier to not be from the state of Washington.

I was heartened by Dino's statement.

He has been pressed through the mill and out come grace, dignity, hope, and reason. Quite a contrast to the AG telling her opponent to accept the results of the hand "recount" *cough*, eh?

This is only the fair outcome of the court ruling. Let us hope it is God's will to spare us from Christine.

delicious.

how long before the dems get violent and take matters into their own hands using their typical 'burn down seattle' motus operandi?

If the wash supreme court denies republican votes the same rights as the ones to dems in king county...

there could very likely be an 'equal protection clause' violation, triggering a quick appeal that runs all the way to the US Supremes.

SWEET.

How sweet it is. You know Robert, some people, (even FReepers sadly) have been grousing about this situation, but I say we are right in the thick of fighting for freedom here. WE are chosen to do the job. And only by opening up this bulging Seattle boil, can we clean up this state. I say that not only will Dino Rossi make an amazing Governor, he will make history!
