Sorry - I was trying to explain Mel may be what in Europe is called Christian Democrats or Christian Socialists - and I provided some hypothetical examples of what such a position would look like to an American. My apologies for any confusion in failing to explain it correctly.
Hi CC
Freudian slip? ;o)
Rove planned all of this. He even edited F-911 to insure a victory.
Doesn't everyone know that? LOL!
Oh. Yes I think Moore's film was a dishonest and vicious politcial attack on Bush. It was also an in-kind contribution to Kerry. But I love Mel even if he likes Moore's movie. Mel didn't exactly say he agrees with all of it. He's just against the Iraq war. I think the war was necessary but hey, I'm not going to turn on Mel over it. The Passion of the Christ was a beautiful work of art and a very moving, spiritual experience for the audience.
I'll admit, I was having a bit of a hard time following the logic tho :)
I do think you are right about the "problem" of a two party system. It forces people to be either black, or white (figuratively, of course), thus leaving the opportunity for a lot of infighting within a particular party, ideology, (or even on FR, lol).
I believe most thinking people are all of the shades in between, not just either/or. That's just the way life is.
I totally agree. There are anti-abortion people who would vote for a socialist if they were anti-abortion.
Thanks for allowing me to expand on my thoughts.
Nope. My keyboard is sticky and I often hit keys but they don't show up (I'm the queen of "backspace" to correct missed strokes or typos) and if I don't notice right away I don't fix it. Nothing more, nothing less.
(I've been resisting the expenditure of a new keyborad, but it looks like I'll have to fork over soon...)
And my typos today have really been egregious. ack
Well, that's my problem with learning that Mel went off and said this. There is no condoning ANY part of Fahrenheit 9/11 and would find it interesting to see what Mel would say in why he 'likes' that film so much?
As soon as the Democratic party figures this out the Republicans are doomed.
You must have missed that part because he said it.
I've read the article a few times. Where is that part?
You *twist the facts* in order to spread your falsehoods.
You have been noted for what you are.

there's a difference between saying "I liked it" and "I believed it". Go easy on Mel. Moore is indeed a talented propagandist. "Columbine" was an effective bundle of lies which tried to convince us that guns and a culture of violence in America caused the student massacre (even going so far as to blame a local nuke missile plant), when the real reason for the massacre--the perps both were on a dangerous drug combo of Prozac and Ritalin--was completely ignored. However, just as Riefenshtal successfully showed us only Hitler's "good" side and not the horrific consequences of his power, so Moore managed to convince many Americans that guns are the enemy.
This was the most interesting part of it. *LOL*
Not sure why folks are going bonkers over what Gibson said. He's entitled to his own opinion.
And Leni Riefenshtal had filmmaking talent Moore could only dream of.
