Exactly! I always thought that Michael Moore must be getting a paycheck from Halliburton or the Carlisle Group, or whatever! He's the best friend the right ever had!

Big fat, hairy deal. As long as Mel doesn't decide to become a drooling, bug-eyed, purple-faced monstor, screaming A.S.W.E.R rhetoric like his sometime co-star Danny Glover, I'll continue to watch his movies.

Seems like Mel's just being gracious here. He simply said he liked it. Maybe he was amused by it, maybe he enjoyed the fiction, maybe he likes a good conspiracy theory, maybe he just agreed with many who think Moore's a decent film-maker (whatever you think of the content). There's also that kinship of having gone against the establishment and found an audience for one's creative passion.

Moore a practicing Catholic?

Grey Ghost is probably one of those who believes the Pope in the Antichrist and Catholicism is a satanic cult, not of Christianity.

I'm displeased with the progress of the war, can't believe we took so damn long to oust Saddam--should've done it with Bush 41. And, of course, support our troops on the ground including folks I personally know.

WOW!

I'm still holding out until later, but I've heard many who loved it.

BTW, I enjoy your posts. Spiritually mature describes them well.

I think many conservative Americans have concern about the war in Iraq, for one thing many people in the Middle East are insane and don't want PEACE, they do not fear death they cause havoc like locusts, it's a big job when you are trying to make insane people think rationally

Yet another one to cross of my watch list.

Wait a minute. Moor's film is well done, even as a piece of propaganda. Gibson is an actor and filmmaker and an honest guy. So he has to give credit where it is due.

Are you referring to the gassing of the Kurds? Do Christians normally wait 20 years before they go to someones aid?

BTW, when Iran made such accuations against Iraq it was dismissed a Iranian propaganda (US was helping Saddam Hussein). Now the same accusations become the absolute truth.

So which is to believe?

"But which buggers they didn't ought to have trusted Winston could not now remember.

Since about that time, war had been literally continuous, though strictly speaking it had not always been the same war. For several months during his childhood there had been confused street fighting in London itself, some of which he remembered vividly. But to trace out the history of the whole period, to say who was fighting whom at any given moment, would have been utterly impossible, since no written record, and no spoken word, ever made mention of any other alignment than the existing one.

At this moment, for example, in 1984 (if it was 1984), Oceania was at war with Eurasia and in alliance with Eastasia. In no public or private utterance was it ever admitted that the three powers had at any time been grouped along different lines. Actually, as Winston well knew, it was only four years since Oceania had been at war with Eastasia and in alliance with Eurasia. But that was merely a piece of furtive knowledge which he happened to possess because his memory was not satisfactorily under control.

Officially the change of partners had never happened. Oceania was at war with Eurasia: therefore Oceania had always been at war with Eurasia. The enemy of the moment always represented absolute evil, and it followed that any past or future agreement with him was impossible."

The week before the election Gibson gave "cool" support for Bush. He basically said Bush was the better of the two candidates but they both were sad pickings. He said our (the populace) job was going to be to push the winner to do what's right.

All of that is true by the way, I voted for Bush but am dismayed that he is the best viable choice available.

It's taken me a while to figure out that the two parties are simply two sides of the same coin. It is the Catholic Church that has truth and against it is the dual liberalism that is known and conservatism and liberalism.

Pope St. Pius X in Pascendi describes the tension that must exist between progressives and conservatives to provide the right atmosphere for the advancement of the liberal agenda. History has proven him right. Republicans today are 10 times more liberal than Republicans of 1964.

G.K. Chesterton spoke of "The job of progressives is to keep on making mistakes. The job of conservatives is to prevent those same mistakes from being corrected."

A friend actually taped what Mel said to the press last night. While it makes my skin crawl that Mel actually shook the slimeballs hand, what he said to the press was.''People are always linking our two movies. Theres is nothing alike about our movies. They are about as far apart as one could get!''.............Translation , Moores propoganda film is based on lies and fantasy, my movie is based on the TRUTH!

Sickens me that a Polish-born Pope would give in to the Neo-chamberlain-type eurowussies, after all his nation suffered most of his life, struggling for independence and freedom. Makes me wonder if the sede-vacantists are right after all....

Why would you say that? I have been a practicing Catholic since I was Baptized as an infant?

Well said. Exactly correct. I remember Hannity being stumped by Gibson in regard to the WMD. Why would people assume Mel is just being polite in regards to Moore? It makes no sense for someone who withstood so much heat over The Passion to be mincing his words over Moore. It looks like Mel Gibson ruined a lot of people's day. I'm sure he hates it when that happens.
