Mel's father harbors all sort of fringe conspiracy theories about U.S. foriegn policy so I'm not surprised he liked Moore's film.
I'm betting he was just being gracious. Hell, W. praised Kerry after the election. This is much ado about nothing.
I don't think so. The remarks I read slamming the Iraq war makes me even wonder if his Christianity is real. Anyone who would stand by while Saddam filled yet more mass graves with tortured victims doesn't seem like much of a Christian to me.
Or he could be setting his sights on a position as a diplomat somewhere.
More likely it's because Mel feels the same as I do about the tragic waste going on in Iraq.
