Sad is it seems, Gore is probably about the best they could do. I don't think they can reign in the Deaniacs and Moorexists enough to nominate a candidtae like Richardson or Bayh who could beat us. So at least with Al Gore you get a candidate who has already had his skeletons drug out of the closet and the most serious negatives he has are boorish exageration and chronic dullness.
