Sen. Barbara Boxer says she is the real victim of last week's confirmation hearing for Secretary of State-designate Condoleezza Rice, yet continued yesterday to question the national security adviser's honesty.
"She turned and attacked me," the California Democrat told CNN's "Late Edition" in describing the confrontation during the Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing.
"I gave Dr. Rice many opportunities to address specific issues. Instead, she said I was impugning her integrity," Mrs. Boxer said.[snip}
"I personally believe this is my personal view that your loyalty to the mission you were given, to sell this war, overwhelmed your respect for the truth," Mrs. Boxer told Miss Rice, who has been President Bush's national security adviser since 2001.
Miss Rice responded that she "never, ever lost respect for the truth in the service of anything. It is not my nature. It is not my character."
"And I would hope that we can have this conversation and discuss what happened before and what went on before and what I said without impugning my credibility or my integrity," Miss Rice said.
Mrs. Boxer yesterday called that response a "good debating technique."
"When you really don't know what to say about a specific, you just attack the person who is asking the questions," Mrs. Boxer told CNN.[snip]
California's other Democratic senator, Dianne Feinstein, declined on "Fox News Sunday" to comment on Mrs. Boxer's questioning, but said her colleague "was within her rights" to question a presidential nominee.
"I don't happen to agree; I happen to strongly support Condoleezza Rice," Mrs. Feinstein said. "I don't want to see her diminished in the eyes of the world. I want to see her confirmed. She will be."

Boxer....Why don't you make a career change....attempt something you might be good at....like trying to find your own ass with both hands.
Speaking of which, Boxer's another one who thinks that asphalt is some sort of rectal disfunction.
Can't be blamed on menopause .. I think she is well past that stage
Maybe it's dementia
I find it interesting to watch, it takes my mind off of wimpy members of the Republican Party that truly trouble me.
We have a golden oppurtunity to get great things accomplished, and I want conservatives to whip All Republicans into line.
L.O.L........
Conversation between the Mullah and Barbara Boxer: Boxer: "But Mr. Mullah, how can you want to cut my head off, when I am so supportive of your attacks on the United States!!!". Mullah: "Sorry, Senator Boxer, but you are a Jew!!! Off with her head!!! Bring out the next Jew out that voted Democrat. Can you imagine these Jews that voted Democrat are the best allies we have. Now, make haste, get rid of all of them. Yes, you have my permssion to rape and abuse the women before you behead them!!! Now, get with it!!!
I would like to thank Bill Jones for running a piss-poor campaign -- if it could actually be called one -- against Babs Boxer, making her the most-voted for member of the Legislative Branch in 2004. It's gone to her head, and now she thinks she's burning compost, if you know what I mean and I think you do, and thus is deserving of a national profile in plenty of time for 2008. If the Deaniacs take over the DNC, we will be getting so much Boxer that a Hillary candidacy will seem like a relief.
All of us Cal conservatives who wanted Tom McClintock for governor and, having failed that, for Senator, wish we could laugh at all you guys who said R-nold was the answer, and that Bill Jones was moderate enough to give Boxer a fight. But we can't. Hopefully, you have learned what we have always known: Never send a RINO to do a man's job.
Boxer-Shorts got her head handed to her.
Barbara Boxer did not question Condi Rice: Boxer browbeat Condi Rice. The only logical way to respond to someone attempting to browbeat you (throwing a millions stickbats at you in one breath) is to respond as Condi did. To question a person: you ask, they respond. Then you can respond or ask another question. Boxer did not do this.
Boxer is proof that even an ugly old white woman can be a US Senator. My conclusion is that the majority of Californians are insane.
L (repeatedly) OL. I don't think even the mooslimbs would want that piece even if she proclaimed her undying love for allah. Hmm...maybe that is what it is.
In the Red Counties of California are the workers. In the Blue Counties/Zones of California are the non-workers, the takers. Redistricting would go a long ways towards correcting some of the problems which plague California. IMHO, of course.
L.N.--As an aside to the topic of the thread, I see by the weekend paper here in S.E. Michigan that R-nold (I like it) is in danger of losing his Austrian citizenship because he approved the execution of a California death row creep the other day. I can hardly wait for the assault to overthrow the Constitution so R-nold or our loser canadian governor can run for president.
Californians can be proud that they have a Senator who will go the extra mile to alienate the Senate leadership, the majority, and the President. This will help her get things done for California. Her dogged pursuit of celebrity status among the whackjob set is just what California needs from its Congressional delegation. |
I personally believe this is my personal view that your loyalty to the mission you were given, to attack this conservative black women in the name of holy liberalism, overwhelmed your respect for the truth.
"I think we should Offer her to the Mullahs as a piece offering!"
I thought they had this religious thingy about pigs!

And that IS an alternate Univerise :-)
Yah, brahs. Somewhere in northern California, a commune is missing its idiot.
Barbara Boxer: the gift that keeps on giving.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
