STATE OF THE UNION -- 2005 [Live Thread]
2/2/05

Posted on 02/02/2005 3:43:44 PM PST by Timeout

The pre-spin: Bush will spend about 1/2 the speech on foreign policy, 1/2 on domestic, with heavy emphasis on Social Security reform. It's said he will provide a detailed tutorial on the SS system and its problems with a few details on his personal accounts proposal.

Laura's guests are said to be an Afghan voter and an Iraqi voter (too bad there's no Ukrainian wearing an orange hat!).

Should we start a drinking game on how many times the pool camera swings to Hillary? Hmmm. Probably not...it would likely hamper out typing ability.

Word on the blogs has it that the closing part of the speech is a hum-dinger. Set your VCR's.

Report here on outrageous MediaCrat spin before AND after the SOTU. Pictures and screen caps welcome.

It will be interesting to see how Bush handles a speech full of numbers, projections and math. My prediction: he carries it off...and all the media will act flabbergasted.

You don't get an MBA if you can't handle numbers, projections and math :-)

Here's hoping that President Bush holds up an ink stained index finger and points it at the Special K twins from MA.

I'm hoping for another homerun! We'll know how well W did, by how much the pundits whine on T.V. after.

I think it's interesting how the Democrats have been "responding" to the President's speech for the past few days already. My guess is that their official response tonight will be a "See, we told you so" kind of thing.

He could perform miracles tonight, but the media and the Democrats would still come out attacking him.

I just like watching the crowd to see which Congrescritters embarrass themselves on national television.

I hear about halfway thru the speech he'd going to point to Senator Kerry and shout "Loser!! Loooooooooser! BWA-HAhahahaa!"

I'm shocked that there hasn't been one snarky immigrant comment made yet. You guys are losing your touch.

You got to love it, the dims trotted out the SS sky is falling routine all these years but now it's just fine.

Hahaha.

I continue to be amazed at how our President has improved
his oratory. I got a feeling this one is going down in the
books.

Heard more of a blurb about the inked finger (A Fr original
idea.) on the radio, expect there may be some in the audience tonight. Heard Kooksinich on Hannidy's radio program today, the man is a lunatic!
