Virginia man charged in alleged plot to assassinate Bush By MATTHEW BARAKAT

Associated Press Writer

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- A former high school valedictorian in Virginia was charged Tuesday with conspiring to assassinate President Bush and conspiracy to support the al-Qaida terrorist network.

Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, 23, a U.S. citizen, made an initial appearance Tuesday in U.S. District Court. He claimed that he was tortured while detained in Saudi Arabia since June of 2003 and offered through his lawyer to show the judge his scars.

The indictment said that in 2002 and 2003 Abu Ali and an unidentified coconspirator discussed plans for Abu Ali to assassinate Bush. They discussed two scenarios, the indictment said, one in which Abu Ali "would get close enough to the president to shoot him on the street" and, alternatively, "an operation in which Abu Ali would detonate a car bomb."

A member of the Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice is heard from. Islam isn't a race, it's a religion. Now shut up.

If I committed an act of terrorism in the name of Jesus, there would be a rush of Christian leaders to condemn it. It seems that every time a Muslim kills someone in the name of his / her religion, CAIR and other like groups try to deny it / explain it / or fret about backlash.

Are Muslims the only people to ever attempt to assassinate a leader?

Don't forget Sirhan and RFK

More than 100 supporters of Abu Ali crowded the courtroom and laughed when the charge was read aloud alleging that he conspired to assassinate Bush.

I hope his 100 "friends" are being stalked and investigated by the Secret Service as we type.

And in their effort to "explain it", they always point to America's support for Israel & they use the terrorism to push their geo-political agenda.

"A small minority of racist extremists gives a bad name to all conservatives and we face a huge political challenge in the future as a result of this. Surely you realize demographic realities and the implications of them for conservatism."

Of course I do. Socioanthropology is what I do. I've been studying Mideast terrorism for 30 years. Appeasement failed for hundreds of years. We're far past the time where the West bears any responsibility for "reaching out" to those who increasingly want to rule the world under the banner of the Kahlifah. The Muslim community MUST begin doing more than meaningless, limp wristed "denounciations" of terrorism as policy.

We're looking at a terrorist trained in Saudi, birthplace of Wahhabism, which is the source of most Islamic terrorism today. A few jabs here and there can be helpful.

One person has caused you to hate 1.2 billion people? That says something...

Nope. One person caused me to open my eyes.

I have been diligently searching for møøselimbs that don't either actively or tacitly support terrorism ever since.

I have found a few. Very few.

Oh, and the 19 møøselimbs that murdered over 3000 of my fellow countrymen had a bit to do with it, too...

FBI should look at the petition site to see who signed it and keep an eye on them.

"Raghead" is a cultural slur

Why slur at all? There are Sikhs and probably a few others that would find that offensive.

Of COURSE it's clear what he was up to. I don't want the media to omit the fact. I would like them to stop stressing it in every paragraph of every article. It's being used as a keyphrase to obscure any other facts which come to light later in the case. I can only speak for myself, though.

According to the indictment, Abu Ali obtained a religious blessing from another unidentified co-conspirator to assassinate the president.

I'll bet it was a Saudi Baptist minister.

I was thinking back to the Miss World Competition in Nigeria. Someone connected to the pageant had a letter published in which she stated that Mohammed would have liked the competition.

As a result the muslims rioted and burned down 23 Christian churches in Kaduna. Their leaders and apologists actually blamed the writer of the letter.

These people need to get a grip.

FROM FOX NEWS;
Man Accused of Plotting to Assassinate Bush
Tuesday, February 22, 2005
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,148338,00.html
•Indictment in Alleged Bush Plot
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A former Virginia high school valedictorian who had been detained in Saudi Arabia as a suspected terrorist was charged Tuesday with conspiring to assassinate President Bush and with supporting the Al Qaeda (search) terrorist network.

Ahmed Omar Abu Ali (search), 23, a U.S. citizen, made an initial appearance Tuesday in U.S. District Court but did not enter a plea. He contended that he was tortured while detained in Saudi Arabia since June of 2003 and offered through his lawyer to show the judge his scars.

The federal indictment said that in 2002 and 2003 Abu Ali and an unidentified co-conspirator discussed plans for Abu Ali to assassinate Bush. They discussed two scenarios, the indictment said, one in which Abu Ali "would get close enough to the president to shoot him on the street" and, alternatively, "an operation in which Abu Ali would detonate a car bomb."

Click here to read the indictment. The White House had no immediate comment.

Abu Ali was born in Houston and moved to Falls Church, Va., where he was valedictorian of his high school class. Federal prosecutors say Abu Ali joined an Al Qaeda cell in Saudi Arabia in 2001. The alleged Bush plot occurred while he was studying in that country

2001?????????? BEFORE 9-11 OR AFTER??????????
