McCain Touts Jeb for 2008
NewsMax ^ | 2/28/05 | AP

Posted on 02/28/2005 5:12:21 PM PST by wagglebee

The first name that popped out of U.S. Sen. John McCain's mouth Sunday as the Republican choice for president in 2008 was Jeb Bush, but the governor's spokesman repeated his position that he has no plans to run.

"If you're looking at dynasties, and by the way I'm a great admirer of Governor Bush, he's done a great job in Florida," the Arizona senator said on "Fox News Sunday." But he added, "This might be a wide-open situation."

In response to McCain's remarks, Bush spokesman Jacob DiPietre said: "The governor is focused on his job right now. He's got an ambitious agenda for his remaining time in office and has said repeatedly that he has no intentions of running" for president in 2008.

Why did Jeb lead the charge/assault against Ward Connerly and his anti-racial preferences referendum in FL?

Well, it turns out the press was as dumb as you appear to be with regard to what happened in 2000, doesn't it?

It must be fun lurkin' around in the sewer, huh?

Just let it go; it's not worth it; I had an exchange with it and it's non-responsive.

Oh yeah, and the press was pretty dumb in both the 2000 and 2004 elections. In fact, they still don't get it.

I think he'd make a great Senator and would beat out Bill Nelson (I believe he's up in '06). Are there term limits for Gov in Fla? If not, he may just want to stay where he is - - he could always run for Pres in '08 or '12

I was referring to your remark on post #13, but I see that Howlin has pretty much taken care of you regarding that remark---

But, I would like to know how you think that Bush got re-elected if he was such a weak candidate in 2000?

Living in California, my vote didn't matter, but I did vote for Bush.

I think we are posting past each other---

Is there nothing good you can say about President Bush?

Why wouldn't he suggest Jeb. As much as I like the guy, I don't think he would have a chance which is probably why McCain brought up his name. I think he would rather see hillary in office.

Like I said, you and the press, two peas in a pod.

Yes. He has been outstanding on the WOT. I almost see divine intervention in the fact that Gore didn't win, for this reason only.

Also, I very much appreciate that he has restored an air of dignity and respect to the office of POTUS.

And why would you lump me in with the press? As a conservative I first and foremost believe in Truth and Clarity, two things to the press that are as kryptonite is to superman.
