I find it mind-boggling that the Republicans are taking this whole thing lying down.I don't think they are. I think Orin Hatch had a rather good response to this nonsense. Perhaps we can get it tomorrow.

It's about the most disjointed writing I've seen in awhile. I read it twice and still can't figure out whether he's for the filibuster or against it.
He comes out strongly both ways.

Hugh pointed out that Sheets used the filibuster Rule to block the Civil Rights Act of 1964 As did Charles Krauthamer on FoxNews' Special Report this evening.

I find it mind-boggling that the Republicans are taking this whole thing lying down. Mind-boggling but no longer suprising. The Republicans Senators expect a kiss before the Democrats leave and cry into their pillows when the Dems don't call the next day.

I heard this tonight and thought, people must be getting pretty tired of hearing the GOP referred to as Nazis every five seconds. Previous it was the Far Left Loons that used that line
Now it is a United States Senator calling Republicans Nazi on the Senate Floor
You Don't Do that
The Dems have stooped to an all time low with these comments

If it had been me, Byrd would have been rushed out of the Senate so fast, his adult diapers would have to catch the next bus.

Byrd has been in the Senate long enough to know better. He talks about history, Bill Of Rights, the Constitution, Congressional decorum and all that.
Friggin hypocrite.

Orin Hatch! I'm surprised that twit propeller head had any response at all, let alone a "rather good response"! I'm all ears waiting to hear it.

Byrds comments are no more outrageous than the gutless response I've heard from the Pubs on this.
I'm livid.

The Senate is the watchdog because majorities can be wrong, and filibusters can highlight injustices, and history is full of examples.Elections don't matter. We liberals know what is best.

Hatch talked about the history of the filibuster and how it was used for legislative issues, not appointments, if I recall correctly. It was an interesting day on the floor. Byrd ought to be put out to pasture after this performance.
