Charles Kushner
Charles Kushner, former chairman of Kushner Companies, a real estate and apartment owning/managing company in northern New Jersey and the Northeast, was sentenced on 3/4 to twenty-four months in prison and fined $40,000. He had been free on $5 million bail.
Kushner, a major fundraiser for Democrats, pleaded guilty in August to giving false statements to the FEC regarding $385,000 in political contributions he made from real estate partnerships without the permission of other partners, falsifying tax forms (16 counts), improperly listing $1 million in charitable contributions as business expenses, and shaving funds several hundred thousand dollars off taxes owed, and retaliating against his sister - a government witness.
Kushner had already paid the FEC a civil penalty of $508,900. The contributions were made in 1997-2000 and came from forty partnerships he controls. The recipients included 13 candidate committees, one party committee and one PAC.
Because federal law prohibits convicted felons from owning any interest in a bank, federal regulators forced the sale of Kushner-owned NorCrown Bank in New Jersey. On Nov. 11, Valley National Bancorp finalized a deal to buy NorCrown for $141 million. The Federal Reserve and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp reached a settlement in February with Kushner and a trust fund requiring them to pay $12.5 million for not fully identifying all the persons connected to the family trust that owned the bank.
Kushner may also owe between $200,000 and $320,000 in back taxes.
PoliticalMoneyLine highlighted the Kushner bundles in its May 30, 2001, home page link.

Companies, partnerships & individuals connected to Charles J. Kushner (Kushner Companies) bundled over $1 million to federal candidates and the DNC in 1999-00.
The scheme involved at least 72 partnerships/companies and 75 individuals/employees in and around Florham Park , NJ. The principal recipients were the DNC ($383K); Com for Working Families CWF (PAC of Mayor McGreevey, Woodbridge, NJ); Mayor Giuliani ($100K); Hillary Clinton ($79K); Jon Corzine ($72K); Sen Bob Torricelli ($57K); and Al Gore ($51K).
The employee relationship, timing and bundling of the donations has raised questions about who controlled the money and if the money was laundered with the use of 'straw' donors names.
CWF got 18 donations ($90K) on 5/2/00; Giuliani got 33 donations ($63K) on 3/31/99, and 35 ($35K) on 12/29/99; Clinton got 68 ($68K) on 6/29/00; Torricelli got 18 ($18K) on 1/22/99, and 38 ($38K) on 2/19/99; Gore got 33 ($33K) on 12/30/99 and 25 ($25K) on 2/10/00; Corzine got 30 ($30K) on 2/24/00, 18 ($18K) on 3/6/00 and 12 ($12K) on 3/31/00. Six individuals made 20 or more donations, totaling between $26K -$60K each. Download the spreadsheet file. Read additional text. http://www.politicalmoneyline.com/bundle.xls
Today, arch-Democrat Kushner was sentenced for political finance wrongdoing and for intimidation of federal witnesses via the prostitute sex video.
His companies are still under criminal investigation for an assortment of fraudulent business practices that might also include tax evasion.
BACKGROUND Kushner Companies headquartered in Florham Park include Westminster Management Limited Liability Co, the property management affiliate of Kushner Companies that manages 22,000 apartment units and three million square feet of commercial property in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Massachusetts and Florida, according to the Kushner Companies Web site.
The list of Kushner development firms includes numerous limited liability companies with names that cannot be readily identified with a project or location -- like Holiday Associates, Township Associates and St. Luke's Associates, are also is on the list.
Along with the development companies, Kushner's holdings include nine investment companies, four management firms, three brokerage companies, two insurance companies, a laundry, a caterer and a legal firm that processes reimbursements, his disclosure form as the nominee to the Port Authority, the only public record of Kushner holdings, shows.
The PA disclosure form does not require officers on authority boards to disclose the value of their holdings.
The form does ask for the locations of the firms and the role that Kushner plays in the firms, and Kushner did not provide that information.
Dumbocrat motto: hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil (of other Dumbocrats).
He was flipped by the feds. We're going to see some more indictments flow from Mr. Bundle. Gotta run, have a good weekend...
Codey wouldn't release any of his tax info to the public either.
::Just adding a thought::
