It makes perfect sense that a Customs agent would have been in the vicinity of the Courthouse in connection with his duties yesterday.......it does NOT make sense that his missing status wasn't noticed and acted upon until now..........if I was a criminal, I'd be moving to Atlanta to set up shop (sorry to be flip in this ongoing tragedy of imcompetence)

The agent was found dead Saturday, and officials said his blue 1994 Chevrolet pickup, pistol and badge were stolen.

The shooting occurred in the same general area where courthouse rampage suspect Brian Nichols used to live.

"We don't know if this is the same suspect," Fulton County Police deputy Chief G.D. Miles said. "Whoever is driving this pickup truck is a cop killer."

Nichols, 33, was suspected of killing a judge and two other people at a downtown courthouse Friday, then stealing a reporter's car to escape. But Nichols apparently never took the reporter's green Honda Accord from the parking garage where he carjacked it and attempted more hijackings afterward, police said.

I kind of hope that the bullets do match. It is not beyond the realm of possibity that a smart terrorist would see this as an opportunity to cover up such a crime. Possession of a Custom agent's ID could be quite convenient for some persons. Admittedly, this is a very slim possibility.

The truck was found on Lenox Road in Atlanta. This would be near Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza Mall in Buckhead. The two together are the largest shopping center area in the Southeast. The area is also near an entrance to GA 400, a toll highway running northward to I-285, and southward to I-85.
