Response 1: We're talking humans and mice, not cows.
Response 2: So... breeding better moo-cows is a sin? How about dog breeding?
Response 3: We're not Israelites.
1. You think that that is somehow more acceptable than what He forbade?
2. As far as I know, all domestic dogs are the same species. As far as hybrid cattle under the present covenant, see 3 below.
3. Granted, we are not Israelites. We are not bound by the old law. But sometimes I wonder whether following some of the old laws wouldn't make the world a better place.

I looked up the passage in my Amplified Bible and it says:
" ... You shall not let your domestic animals breed with a different kind [of animal]; ..."
The Amplified version of the Bible is to reveal an English meaning equivalent to each key Hebrew/Greek word.
