You sound too intelligent and reasonable to be a liberal/dumbocrat.

What exactly is it that you disagree with here? Patriotism? Hard Work to get ahead in life? Stopping wasteful and inefficient Govt. programs?

Thank you very much for the appreciation you have expressed.

As for me, my total aversion to leftist policies, politics, politicians and commentators does not make me unaware that their are people who are my countrymen on the other side of the political spectrum.

My vote is for you to be allowed to stay here, as long as you behave. That was a very nice letter, and although you disagree with us on many issues, you have been taught about the sanctity of life and the Lord's workings, through this site. May God Bless you and work on your life in mysterious ways.

Good. Keep reading and watching for yourself what has been obvious to most of us here for years.

We'll have you a full fledged member of the VRWC within 6 months.

I wear Birkenstocks too. Does that make me "one of you"? I think there is hope for you. You can't be all that bad because you don't belong at DU for sure. You sound much too intelligent for them.

You appear to be intelligent, and definitely have a sense of humor. I predict you will come over to the "dark side" before all is said and done.

Welcome!

"Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go back to hugging a tree...."

Don't hug it to tight. You might get a splinter where you don't want one. :-)

It is good to see that you are with us on this case though.

I don't think any us Freepers agree on everything, but that is whats so great about the good ole US of A ...I run into a problem with people who go against the right to express those views.

Our Forefathers knew we would have different ideas but they also knew that the Constitution had to be upheld to keep this country operating on that system.

The difference between freepers and Du'ers is that we understand a different view as long as you can give in an intelligent form ..there (DU) I think you are either on their side of the road or an extremists.

Welcome thanks for your post..I learn alot by reading here also....

"Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go back to hugging a tree or putting on Birkenstocks or eating Ben & Jerry’s, or whatever it is that “people like me” do."

I hug trees (when I'm putting a loop of rope around to help guide them away from trouble when I'm cutting them down); I wear Birkenstocks (they're comfortable and practical, and protect my socks from the dreaded Newfie Drool); I even kind of eat Ben and Jerry's ice cream (they don't make "Dastardly Mash" anymore, so I make my own). So I guess "people like me" must mean guys in Montana. Boy howdy there, Pardner!

I suspected there might be a few "normal" DemocRATs out there on the web, but you'll have to excuse us if we observe you from all angles, circle you carefully, maybe tap on the glass a little, laugh at the majority of your political antics while in our captivity, and toss you peanuts or marshmallows over the fence. (Hey! We could be tossing grenades, LOL!)

You're just such an odd creature amongst us, you're sure to generate much speculation. ;)

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers on Terri, though. I have Faith that cooler heads will prevail and that they won't starve her to death. There are a few bills in Congress right now, being rushed through to try to stop her murder and prevent this fate worse than death from happening to others in the future.

"As a third-year law student..."

There's still hope for you. Keep your eyes open, look at how our tax dollars are spent, and learn all you can about human nature. Most conservatives are good people who have seen how the socialist (liberal) machine takes good money from hard working people and uses it to purchase the votes of the weak minded. Virtually all of the liberal programs are total failures as far as their advertised purpose. They're real good at getting real people trapped in the system, and unable to make it on their own though.
