Pinellas Park police Lt. Kevin Riley, standing upper right, prepares to arrest members of the Keys family as they were attempting to bring Terri Schiavo water Wednesday morning, March 23, 2005 outside the Woodside Hospice in Pinellas Park, Fla. The Keys family, of Burnet, Tex., kneeling, from left, Josie, 14, Gabriel, 10, Chris, the children's father, and Cameron 12, were all taken into custody. Galen Keys, upper left, the children's mother looks on, but was not arrested. The mother insists it was the children's idea: "I am proud of them," said the boys' mother Geilen Keys from Texas, who was not arrested. "They are very mature and they said 'we want to go and offer some water to Terri'."

Pinellas Park police Lt. Kevin Riley, second from left, handcuffs 14-year-old Josie Keys, left, while Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies place her father Chris in the back of a van after arresting members of the family for trespassing Wednesday morning March 23, 2005 outside the Woodside Hospice in Pinellas Park, Fla. The family members were attempting to bring Terri Schiavo a cup of water.

Gabriel Keys (foreground) is arrested by police officers for trespassing in Pinellas Park, Florida, March 23, 2005. The young protester attempted to take a glass of water into the Woodside Hospice for the brain-damaged Terri Schiavo. A federal judge rejected a request from the parents of Schiavo to order her feeding tube reinserted, dealing a blow to attempts by the U.S. Congress and the White House to prolong her life.

God bless them. Their whole lives they can say that they tried to save Terri when America started killing the disabled. Every FReeper and protester there should be arrested.

Maybe some of those Nazi police officers will start to realize the evil they are participating in.

Even if the kids asked their parents if it was alright for them to take part, the parents should have said no.

And teach children not to follow their conscience?

Too bad we won't ever have our Nuremburg Trials for those brave officers who are "just following orders".

All I can say is these kids have feelings for another human being who is dying and tried to help. And that makes them heros in my books.

Home educators set their own schedules. They can educate just about anywhere. They are not shackled to government school schedules or buildings.

So I see, no they are not shackled to government school schedules or buildings buy they are shackled today according to the pics.

Does anyone know what their sentence or fine will be? My friends served some jail time when they participated in Operation Rescue.

Will the kids have to serve jail time or will a fine have to be paid? Anyone here know?

How does someone "look home-schooled"?

They are dressed like children, and not like gangsters or prostitutes.

I doubt it - they are underage to be in jail. I think they will probably fine the parents.

This is a national disgrace. These cops shouldn't be able to look at themselves in the mirror. This is evidence that most in the police establishment would go along with whatever dictatorial regime that takes over... Oh yeah, thats right. The "black robes" already have.

It appears to me that this issue is going to be a significant, catalytic event in American history. A catalyst to what is not yet clear, but the images of American police arresting children for attempting to bring water to a woman who is guilty of nothing more than being an inconvenience, but is being starved and dehydrated by court order are bound to evoke the kind of emotions I am feeling right now. (And I'm not a guy who's ever been accused of being "in touch with my feminine side.")

"It's alright for the parents to do this; they're adults and they know what's going to happen. Even if the kids asked their parents if it was alright for them to take part, the parents should have said no. Now these kids will be subject to the indignities of police custody and all that entails so that a few protesters can get a photo op designed to tug at the heart strings."

I could not agree more. Placing children in danger like this is what fanatical Muslims usually do, just to a greater level.

The levels the zealots in this case sink to never cease to apall me. What's next, suicide bombers?

The lady who got arrested for trying to bring water in yesterday got out in a few hours.

But she's one of the adults that got arrested again at the same time they hauled off the kids, so she's in jail again.
