If the Bushes go in, there will be hell to pay

If they stay out, there will be hell to pay

So hell to pay is not a very powerful tool unless of of course it is directed at the real problems here beginning with MS and Judge Greer.

As far as I am concerned, threateniing Hell to Pay is a weak point at this time.

I hope DCF has the guts to not allow Felos to intimidate them.

...and yet she could die before they decide one way or the other...

Everyone involved in this battle is making perfectly sure to dot every "i" and cross every "t".

To follow the letter of the law very carefully.

And yet the spirit of a very basic law is being forgotten: That Terri has the inalienable right to life.

Her basic right is being denied.

Terri will lose her life while all the bureaucrats make sure that the letter of the law is followed to the end.

Greer just (once again) ordered DCF to stand down. According to 970 WFLA.

Travesty of law.

This is what happens when law is viewed in a vacume. The vacume allows finding rights where none exist, and allows circumventing the law where intention is obvious.

Is it me or is some of the MSM acting like people who just realized they killed a woman.

... but I do hope God will take mercy on this country.

I'm a Christian but I sure can't speak for what God will do but... I DO know this country hasn't shown any mercy to Terri.

That's what Michael Savage said too, but an earlier poster said that one clintoid voted for Terri and that the GHWB appointee went with MRS.

U.S. Supreme Court rejects Schiavo parents' appeal
State judge who ordered feeding tube removal gets case again

http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/03/24/schiavo/index.html

EXCERPTS

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The U.S. Supreme Court rejected Thursday an appeal by the parents of Terri Schiavo to have their severely brain-damaged daughter's feeding tube reinserted.

The court, without comment, refused to intervene after the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals twice Wednesday turned down a plea from the parents, Bob and Mary Schindler

The fate of Terri Schiavo is also in a waiting stage on another front -- the Florida circuit court where the judicial wrangling began seven years ago.

Schiavo's parents and her husband have been at odds over the woman's care, and the battle has drawn in religious conservatives on the side of the Schindlers to fight Michael Schiavo's efforts to let his wife die, as he says she wanted.

Twenty court rulings have sided with Michael Schiavo, who as husband is also guardian. The courts have ruled that evidence shows Terri Schiavo expressed her wishes, although she did not have a written living will.

The Supreme Court petition was given to Justice Anthony Kennedy, who has jurisdiction over emergency appeals in cases arising in the 11th U.S. Circuit, which includes Florida, where Terri Schiavo lives in a hospice.

It was thefifth time the case has been presented to the Supreme Court, which has consistently refused to hear it.

Maybe the problem is that Jeb Bush has consulted and the state police have quietly told him they will refuse to obey an order to defy the judiciary and rescue Terri.

Then Governor Bush can call out the National Guard to take Terri into protective custody and the police will stand down to them! Governor Bush, PLEASE SAVE TERRI!

You raise an interesting point, will the state take over custody of the body as part of a criminal investigation?

If this is going to be done, I HOPE J.BUSH HAS ORDERED LAW ENFORCEMENT TO TAKE ACTION QUIETLY WITHOUT PR TO THE PREPARATION OF THE SAME. Michael/Felos probably have a turbo herse set to go the incinerator.

This is a repost from Mitchbert and it conveys what most likely is happening ... take heart ...

As maddeneing as it is to watch I'm begiining to believe we're seeing a very carefully constructed process executed driven by the Executive Branches of both the Florida and Federal Governments (read: Jeb and W) that at it's heart is meant to save Terri's life. The tricky part is they're trying to do it in such a way that respects and uses to full adavntage the three distinct jurisdictions of constitutional authority.

The Legislative Branch is now out of the picture, both in Washington and Florida. The only Judicial point not yet explored is the USSC, but FOX is reporting that is now underway. If Kennedy blows it off (I think he might...no specific reason, just a hunch) the Judicial Branch options will have been exhausted.

Which leaves only the Executive Branch, which at both the Federal and State level have openly expressed their desire for Terri to live.

The hearing allowing DCF to take custody of Terri is simply a sop to the part of their enabling legislation that covers normal circumstances. If it's refused they can immediately go to the emergency provisions and remove Terri and not have to justify it before a court until at least mid-next week.

Once again, Bush let the Legislators recuse themselves, let the Courts run to the end of their script, and can now, with full authority, bring the power of the Executive Branch to bear and no one can legitimately claim he's usurped the authority of any other Branch. To make things even better, the section in the DCF statute is not new law, yet reads as if it were written to protect just such a person as Terri.

And if all this fails, I wouldn't be surprised if W has an Ace hiding in his boot.

It seems the only right that seems to count for the severely disabled is the "right" to have someone claim you chose to refuse medical treatment. If they can certify that (however they do it) nothing else matters. It's the only "right" you have.
