Posted on 03/25/2005 12:17:45 AM PST by STARWISE
Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.
"........ As of Thursday afternoon, Schiavo, 41, had been without food or water for six full days and was showing signs of dehydration flaky skin, dry tongue and lips, sunken eyes, according to attorneys and friends of the Schindlers. Doctors have said she would probably die within a week or two of the tube being pulled.
'It's very frustrating. Every minute that goes by is a minute that Terri is being starved and dehydrated to death," said her brother, Bobby Schindler, who said seeing her was like looking at "pictures of prisoners in concentration camps.
The brother of Schiavo's husband, though, strongly disagreed with that assessment, telling CNN on Thursday night that Schiavo "does look a little withdrawn" but insisting that she was not in pain. He added that starvation is simply "part of the death process."
Visits by Terri's mother, father, sister and brother to see Terri are completely monitored and controlled by Michael Schiavo, and they have been refused entry at times to see their daughter and sister for as long as 4 hours. Unimaginable!

She was a girl who laughed easily at her uncle's lame jokes. A girl so naive that she wrote to John Denver, asking him to come sing at her wedding, who went to Disney World for her honeymoon and believed that a good life meant that one day she'd be able to vacation there every year with her kids.
We await Judge Whittemore's latest ruling, and pray for Terri and her family.
Prayers for Terri.
Prayers in earnest ..Lord, have mercy on Terri and her family.
Found it! This time I wasn't 2,000 posts late.
But I will be by tomorrow. :) Goodnight y'all and prayer BUMP for Terri.
Has anyone here taken a look at Florida's recent history? I mean besides the weather, you've got this, Elian, the election fiasco, the recent murders of the little girl and that family... and now on tv I heard something about zoo infections..... not to mention gators in every backyard.. I'm sorry.. I'd have to think long and hard about moving there...
Goodnight you ol' swamp cat!
Good night everyone. See you later this morning and praying there is some good news.
We're doing a thread a day!
LOL! thank you...heheh..
that Terri can finally be allowed to go Home in peace
There's adifference between being "allowed" to go home and being FORCED to go home.

Excellent point, DJ.
Another Freeper today pointed out that people keep saying Terri should be "allowed" to go home (Heaven). We respond that it's murder. She said that she told someone instead that Terri is a healthy woman being FORCED to go "home" That really struck me and she said the person she was speaking to then "got it".
So, whose staying up..anyone?
Thanks for the new thread.
I'm exhausted here - 3:37 am.
Somehow I've been having this hunch tongiht that Terri's feeding tubes will be reinserted.
Praying for Terri.
Not long, every time I get here, everyone leaves!!!
Hard to give up, waiting for news.
It's 3:30 am again. I need to pass out. Uh, sleep. :)
I'd like to stay up but I need to get to bed.
I have a feeling the decision will come down in the middle of the night while we're all asleep.
Wait, for some of you it is the middle of the night! And you're not asleep.
Wow, you eastcoasters
Quinn is on target again. For those of you who can't get him, he is a patriot and the best show on the radio and the web. Please listen to him everyday. www.warroom.com
I moved out after over 30 years a few months ago .. hurricanes last season drove me over the edge. Otherwise, it was fine to live out in the peaceful country.
I keep hoping for news too...hard to sleep, hard to do anything but pray.
I know! But it's hard to go to sleep some nights when you want news!
Adieu, adieu, to you and you and you :)
(For real this time .... ) I promise. I'm gone. Really.
Yes, I really must be off. (Bet it shows, huh?)
I pray you're right.
I just keep hoping the fact that it's taking so long is a good thing. But as LegalEagle said, you can't always read judges.
It's the same disingenuous argument Senator King gave the other day. These guys bloviate about how wonderful it is and how happy we should be for Terri 'going home', yet they do everything they can not to go themselves.
Half of those Florida senators where at once calling for Terri's death while whining that they felt their lives were in danger.
I cannot imagine calling out Jesus' name saying, "Lord, watch this!... I want an innocent disabled woman to starve to death! Watch as I vote no!"
Wish it had been mine. LOL!!! Did you see post 16?
We even run out of things to say, just pray.
The end of the last thread, I posted to a gal I met, she never answered or went ot bed, too.
Or couldn't find this new thread.
Me, too. But it's still almost 2 a.m.! I need to go to bed. I'll hang around for a minute, but think I'll say good night.

Prayers for sweet, innocent Terri
I am here.
I told myself I was not going to stay up all night again - and here I am!
I don't want to miss them going into the hospice with the injunction in hand.
Thank you for that, Sal.
Good niiiiiigt, good niiiiigt, good niiiigt!
(I can sing, too)
It is good to see that Terri's end of life wishes will finally be honored. Kudos to the judicial branch of government, which has stood strong throughout this ordeal, and has resisted pressure from the media and from the legislative and executive branches. As Terri dies and fulfills her final wishes, we can take comfort that our system of government is working as it was intended to work, and even with all of the "expert analysis" from the different news media outlets, the rule of law continues to operate in this, the greatest nation on God's green earth.
I've given up even pretending like I'm not gonna sit at this computer for hours on end, pretending like I'm gonna go to bed at a reasonable hour, pretending like I'm gonna get to the gym this week...
but it's for a good cause!
I know. It was so hypocritical. They wer all worried about death threats and Teri's been living with that for years.
But I can't hear you, hehe.
Nighty night, try to relax and get some good sleep, things have to change after so many bad days and many millions of prayers.
Well my daughter wakes up at 6:30 no matter what time I go to bed, so I need to head off....here's to a fervent confident expectation that in the morning the insanity will have subsided and Terri will be on her way to being rehydrated.
That wasn't your post. Yes, I did see 16. I'm getting tired, can you tell?
I wonder if she got marrieid civilly or if she got married in the church? Anyone know?
LOL! Go on with you!
You picture is not showing here.
