He has always seemed to be a genuinely decent man, deeply religious. He has accomplished so much in his life and has made such a difference in the world. His death, when it comes, will leave a huge void that will be hard to fill.
God seems to send his special emissaries when they are most needed. It is interesting that He sent us Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan and JPII all at about the same and in their own way each contributed to defeating the greatest tryanny the world has ever known. Hopefully we will be blessed with others like them to lead us through the coming trials.

...:-) That's something. I think one of the most appealing things about this great man has been his sense of humor.

If you can get EWTN, you can see this mass without interference. Vatican Radio has preempted regular programming and is also carrying the Mass.
Go now to your reward, John Paul, the New and Eternal Jerusalem.

How absolutely beautiful! Now my screen is getting blurrier :(
This is the only Pope I have memory of (I am 32 and a lifelong Catholic). He has been a great inspiration for many and the embodiment of all that is good and holy. He will be home with our Lord soon, and that is what makes me feel better, although still incredibly upset.
