People need to call in support of Frist's nuclear option NOW
April 1, 2005 | iceemonster

I would rather not say who for my privacy, but I am working for a US Senator and we have been innudated by calls all today in opposition to the nuclear option. The vote will be today. I am not concerned about the Senator I work for because he is a staunch conservative but if this is a national pattern of calls (and I'm sure it is), it ought to be countered.

Everyone needs to call the offices, preferably DC, of their two Senators. I don't have time to look up the numbers for every one, but to get them, go to their homepages. Every Senator's address looks like http://frist.senate.gov, or http://reid.senate.gov, or http://kennedy.senate.gov, and so on and so forth. Call them now and express your support for the nuclear option. Thank you.

My senators are both rats. No chance in hell I'll be represented in this vote.

If Frist & Co. can't figure out the right from wrong by now, after this issue has been hashed to death, they never will. They're just wasting the session, probably in the hope that the next round of elections moots the issue.

Good luck. I'm not going to bother. Mine are Kennedy and Kerry.

You've just knocked the list of people you allegedly work for down into the mid-forties.

And I have been following this for some time--I was completely unaware that there was going to be any vote on the nuclear option.

You're going to have to come up with something more, especially since you've been here less than 60 days.

Isn't Congress in Easter Recess until the end of May when they go into Memorial Recess?

This is the sort of communication that CBS or ABC would take seriously, but we Freepers do not. The internal evidence suggests that this is a phony. Someone actually in the position this note describes, would not be as ignorant as the note suggests.

Good get.

Just checked the Senate website. They don't reconvene until Monday. Ignore this thread.

I have called Frist's office on many occasions. A leader, he is not.

He's pathetically weak but we shall see.
