BEIRUT, Lebanon — A bomb severely damaged a shopping and residential center in a mountain resort in the Christian heartland northeast of Beirut late Friday, lightly injuring at least four people, police and witnesses said. Several other people were treated at the scene and released. The explosion in Broummana, a posh mountain resort overlooking Beirut (search) and the Mediterranean coastline, is the fourth in about two weeks to hit a Christian area of Lebanon where support for the anti-Syrian opposition is high. It came as the country was engulfed in its worst political crisis in years. Residents reported hearing an explosion at about 9:45 p.m., targeting the Rizk Plaza with clothing stores on the ground floor and furnished apartments above. Ambulances rushed to the scene with their sirens wailing.

30 years ago Lebanon was the play ground of Europe, with what were considered the most beautiful beaches in the world. Then the Syrian backed musholes started a civil war.

The Islamic Fascists keep proving the theory they don't want democracy just total control. As you see they are trying to start a civil war and ruin what gains that nation has made in the last 10 years. With the help of Syria and Iran of course. A stand needs to be taken. Someone needs to show Syria and Iran what use of force really is. Screw invasion of these dictatorships get SAC primed up to do the job.

The next thing we will hear is "See what happens when the Syrians are removed for the promotion of freedom"?

"The next thing we will hear is "See what happens when the Syrians are removed for the promotion of freedom"?"

...except that its pretty obvious who's behind things and the Lebanese aren't that stupid. The only people who will buy into such a lame arguement is the media and acedemia along with all the usual suspects.

I have a feeling that this time, things won't play out according to the Syrian script just like they did not play out that way in Iraq. Hopefully the people become united against the terrorists and their sponsors.

Wouldn't be cool if Syria became a mirror? What a message it would send to the IslamoFascist.

Syria is playing the dumbest and the most obvious terror game of creating trouble in Lebanon so they will tell the world "see if we withdraw from Lebanon it will be thrown into chaos and civil war". No one is fooled by these idiotic and terrorist tactics and it is a great sign of the great desperation of the Syrian Baath terror regime.

The "Bush Doctrine" deserves a freedom award, if not Dubya receiving the "Nobel Peace Award"!

Syria is signing their own death warrant. I'm sure Imad Mugnyaia(sp?) has a hand in this as well, he's prob in Iran though. But yea, both groups running Iran and Syria need to get the boot.

The message has been sent, just don't rely on the MSM to let you know.

Agreed, but the leftists worldwide would NEVER allow it. For them, it's politics and a game symbolic of in-your-eye where the Nobel prize is concerned. As long as they have THEIR freedom, they feel perfectly justified in supporting dictatorships and genocide rather than allow Bush a "victory". In the end, freedom will be its own reward and that will have to be enough.

Like with Reagan and the Soviets, and the Nazi/Soviet pact, the leftists are on the wrond side of history AGAIN.

So far in the last 5 years, they have had their option of choice to disallow, via progress and accomplishment, wither.
