PHOENIX - Volunteers for an effort to patrol the Mexican border reported their first sighting of suspected illegal immigrants, resulting in 18 arrests, authorities said Sunday.

Participants in the Minuteman Project saw the migrants Saturday near Naco as the volunteers were surveying the border to familiarize themselves with the area. When agents arrived, they apprehended 18 people, Border Patrol spokesman Andy Adame said.

Wow, you mean they just reported the illegals, and arrests were made? What about all the vigilante violence the ACLU warned us about?

So what did they do with them, give them a ticket to New York and a few nights at the Plaza? Or did they actually take them back to Mexico?

Now why did I think one of the ACLU or anti MMP "observers" would look like that?

No job and plenty of time on their hands?

If I have my story straight, if the Border Patrol catches them near the border, they document the illegals and then haul them off to the nearest legal border crossing and send them back.

You do indeed have the removal process correct. However, you would not believe how fast they can get back here.

My father caught the same woman 5 times in one day and broke his leg in the process.

If these people are not patriots I don't know what to call them.

For those of you who think it is alright to just walk into America, try immigrating to Australia or Canada.

Hell, I'm surprised the BPS even showed. Seems to me the best way for the Bush amin. to disuade and make irrelivant what the minutemen are trying to do would be to just ignore them. If the BPS never showed the minutemen would be forced to act (which is illegal in and of itself) or endure being completely useless, Either way it would be project over for them...

"For those of you who think it is alright to just walk into America, try immigrating to Australia or Canada."

You have got this right. Just trying to go through Canadian customs on a business trip is an exercise in the absurd.

Canadian Official: "What is the nature of your visit?"
Me: "Business Meeting."
Canadian Official (after playing 20 questions about the type of business I am in): "Aren't there any Canadians who can do your job?" etc, etc, etc.....

Or another time, I thought I would just say I was there to attend a class and the official gave me the third degree to make sure I wasn't there to teach the class.
