No offense to you, but...your post and two bucks gets you 1.8 gallons of gasoline. Who cares? Who remembers? And what effect does reading your post really mean in the grand scheme of life?

That implies the post was worth about $2.25. Possibly $2.60 in my neck of the woods. Seem right to you?

"As a Hurricane fan, it does seem fitting though that a Big Ten team gets their season squashed by the refs,..."

LOL! Great point. Miami was robbed against those overrated Buckeyes.

The officiating was bad all around. The ref missed obvious calls on both ends.

And you clicked on this thread AND clicked 'Reply', why, again? You know, while we're talking about things that don't matter in life...

I can imagine the refs who were barely passed up for those who actually called the game are greatly relieved they weren't part of that crappy job. Cheap fouls called too often against Illinois, but Illinois got away with murder on moving screens on the perimeter. Officials should have got the screening under control early on.

And a lot of illegal screens that weren't called.

I suppose that great sports contests have as much effect on the grand scheme of life as just about anything else we do.

But rather than dwell on that, why not recognize these wonderful kids who worked so hard to get to where they are...

And the fact that the two teams both come from wonderful college programs where the graduation rates are high, and the integrity of the recruiting is almost beyond reproach.

And the fact that millions saw and vicariously participated in what was clearly one of the finest NCAA tournaments in history.

Seems to me there's something of the grand scheme in all of that.

So go back to whatever it was that you were doing before you dropped in.

"Tough loss for them."

Yes, let me join in here to say that. Hubby seemed happy with the outcome, and I guess it was a really exciting game. But I was almost ready to do what my liberal friend does and cry for the losers. But of course I hadn't participated as she always does by rooting like a maniac for the winners first. You just don't want to watch sports with my friend, unless you really like emotional roller-costers, she's such a girl about it. (Of course she IS a girl, but as a liberal it irritates her that that might affect her behaviour.)

that was the worst officiating I have ever seen.

Agreed, that was awful.

Oh well, atleast I'm not a Duke fan. UNC fans give them such grief over the summer. The end of March madness means one thing....ITS BASEBALL SEASON...YIPPEE!!!!!!!
