More reform that consists of essentially scrapping immigration controls. Guest worker programs have a bad history throughout history. The Germans were "guest workers (and soldiers)" in the Roman Empire right up to the time they sacked the place. Guest workers is a fraud since most of them will not leave and the government and people who support such programs have no intention of making them leave. Guest workers is a con phrase designed to cover support for open borders. After all, the govt. doesn't enforce the democratically passed laws on the books now, turns a blind eye to illegals, do you think they're going to get tough when the guest workers refuse to leave? Not to mention the lawsuits.
Whatever floats your boat. But before you go renaming FR, you may wanna bring the issue up with Jim. He is after all the owner.
I sure don't see one with the "approval" rating you claim.
But times have changed. It once was very expensive for people to come here but it is a lot easier these days.
Immigration is no longer a benefit and it is becoming a menace. We are being turned into a police state because of the narcotics sold by criminal immigrant gangs, terrorist attacks, and just plain psychotic criminals who arrive here.
We have to adapt to survive.

I keep hearing that. Human nature hasn't changed however. Getting a cap on the illegals, and those migrants running a scam or engaged in other crime, would end a lot of our immigration worries.

The only Wacko Fringe in this debate are those that advocate open borders and unlimited immigration. Something that the vast majority of Americans soundly reject.
With illegal immigration and border control becoming hot button issues within the republican party (and don't tell me it's not) the CAL (Criminal Alien Lobby) has a rude awakening in store for it.
If the Open Borders RINO leadership of the Party can't find the right side of this issue, watch for some changes in 06. The current low approval ratings of both Bush and Congress show just how vulnerable the party is if it doesn't starting responding to the Will of the People instead of the Will of the Lobbyists soon.
If I thought we could trust our government to do that, I would agree. But we can't.
Immigration authorities are being corrupted. Not just in the US but in Europe. The policies and the agencies responsible are being influenced and overtaken by foreigners,
It is not a new phenomenon. About twenty years ago several congressmen were arrested by the FBI and photographed taking cash bribes from agents posing as Arabs who asked for immigration favors.
Today Europe suffers from an infestation of Muslims who threaten to destroy their civilization.
Times have changed and we need to adapt.

Agreed, we need to do a lot of things. But we need to watch our butts. In other words, keep a close eye on Washington. Not all of them are looking out for our best interests. Many of them are for sale to the highest bidder.
For example, after Clinton pardoned a Puerto Rican terrorist, Puerto Rican activists delivered up a lot of votes to help her get elected.
That seems to be the case.
Castro was the first to do this when he emptied his prisons and sent his hard-core criminals to the US. Now others have picked up on the idea.
Most notably Mexico which took a cue from Castro upon observing the weakness of our so-called leaders who allowed this invasion of criminals to happen and didn't do anything about it.
Mexico has just taken this to new heights in their Undeclared War against the U.S. under the cover of Political Correctness.
Adapt, yes. Become a locked down police State, No. Also, we have gotten the government we deserve. This is what comes from allowing our GOP to run to the center and for allowing liberals to not be prosecuted for the traitors they are.
Wait a minute, many on FR are praising hillary for her so-called stand(a few throaway words in reality) on illegal immigration.
Oh BTW, you do know that Puerto Rico has elected a pro-life Republican as their delegate to Congress.

Based on my own experience, there are a very few wild-eyed libertarians that support that. They have their own website and don't come to FR anymore.
We should judge people by what they do, not what they say. That goes especially for the Clintons.
Puerto Rico has some good people and they have some bad people. We should encourage the good ones, not give pardons to terrorists.
