I generally refer to the people who are always offended as "PITO", meaning "perpetually indignant and terminally offended". The surprising thing for me is that it is usually leftists who are so ready to be offended. I never expected a "live and let live" conservative (a real one, that is), to be so indignant. Most of the conservatives I know have excellent senses of humor!

That's my experience as well. Some stuff is just funny because it's funny. Life is not a 24/7 church service.
And Laura's short comedy speech was funny, not only because it was so well-delivered. Self-deprecating humor is some of the funniest stuff out there, and she made fun of both herself and her husband along with a few other good friends.
I don't personally know of anyone who was offended by it. It wasn't a huge topic of conversation at the office, but all my conservative friends thought she was great.
