He's built buildings, written books, married models and starred in reality TV. On Monday, Donald Trump announced his latest venture: Trump University.
Don't expect ivy colored walls or a football team. Trump University will consist of online courses, CD-ROMS, consulting services, and Learning Annex type seminars.
'In today's hyper-competitve business climate, the need for the highest quality education has become more crucial than ever,' Trump said.
'People are looking beyond the traditional business education model, which involves hours in the classroom and relies primarily on book learning.'
Roger Schank, professor emeritus and founder of the Institute for Learning Sciences at Northwestern University, will have the title of chief learning officer.

I'm not sure, but he can offer a class on how to file for bankruptcy. He has both the expertise and relevant real-world experience on the subject.

My Lord, this guy is everywhere.
I bet the people who take his classes get more information from him than the people who win The Apprentice.
Can I set up a separate company to take the class, have too little income in that company to cover the bills for the class, declare corporate bankrupcy to avoid paying but keep the education I had received?
Pretty soon, there will be more places named after Trump than John F Kennedy. And to think JFK had to take a bullet for them to rename the whole country after him.
Will he also have a class on clicking on the Spell button before the Post button? I need that class.

I'm for ANYTHING that will compete with liberal academia.
With the cost of traditional education spiraling out of control, I fully expect this approach will become more and more prevalent in the future; not only in business education but also in home schooling and advanced degrees.

America and, apparently, some conservatives want you to have less of it.

Now, that's a bit much, ok. I could see an existing university naming a business school after him for his business acumen (sp), but, is this necessary?
Anyone, don't university names serve as memorials to the departed (ie. Stanford, Morehouse etc.)
I think he's banking on name recoginition and people hoping to learn his 'secrets' --it could be a potential moneymaker if a lot of fans buy in.
