Governor, lawmakers in daily contact on Schiavo, e-mails show

TALLAHASSEE — Gov. Jeb Bush was in daily contact with congressional leaders in March as court efforts to intervene on behalf of Terri Schiavo faltered, according to e-mails obtained Monday from the governor's office.

The e-mails, released to The Palm Beach Post in response to a public records request, also show that state lawmakers persevered with legislative maneuvering to keep the severely brain-damaged woman's feeding tube intact, despite advice from Bush's top Schiavo attorney that such an effort was hopeless.

Like Specter, and Snowe, and McPain, and DeWine, etc?

Seems we can't win with 'em.

I feel you're confused about the right and the extreme right, or you just consider yourself part of the extreme and think I'm being unfair. I was using similes. You haven't heard any (American) left wingers calling for gulags and mass extermination of dissenters, either. Similes; lib's like commies, whackjobs like nazi's. Which do you prefer, motherland, or fatherland. Oh, sorry, now its 'homeland'. And you shouldn't consider all Christians extreme right, either. Most Americans are in the middleground, and that means most Christians are in the middleground, also. It is patently wrong to tar them with the extremist caricature.

whackjobs like nazi's.

You're tilting at windmills, then, since proto-nazis last about five minutes max on FR.

Do you really fail to see the difference between these rinos (okay, moderates) and the middleground? If we have the middleground we can get rid of the rino moderates. Are you being dim on purpose, or do you really not see the differnce between moderate (a political position) and the middleground (the vast majority of Americans)?

Conservatism has made great strides, to the point that we are now a heavy majority within the majority governing party in the United States.

And it is liberal Republicans who are cravenly thwarting the will of that majority.

The 'moderate' label is false advertising.

You're right, conservatism has made great strides, however I disagree to the heavyness of the majority. I want the strides to continue, which is why I try to distance the right from the extreme right. I disagree with your impressions of both moderates and conservatives, but hey, as long as I can distance the right from the extreme right, I'm a happy camper. The extreme right is worse than the left and as bad as the extreme left. The extreme right scares the bejesus outta the the middleground, and we profit in votes by distancing the extreme right from the right.

Your problem is that you've accused regular old pro-life Christian conservatives here of being extremists over and over again, which is untrue.

Who? You, yep. Not many else, thats for sure. Basically, until they get into my face I respect people's faith. No, EVie, you're wrong again. I've only got a small handful of targets and I try to be precise in my antagonisms. Most I feel are DU plants and disruptors and they are the ones I go for. And yes, I consider you amongst them. I don't think you're DU, but you seem to have a burning hatred of the American middleground. Does this manifest in a nihilistic anarchism? I dunno. I do know that you're not what I would consider a model Christian. Quite the opposite, actually.

Your opinion of what a model Christian is would make for an interesting study.

Christ would be a good start for your study. I could come up with a few other examles, if pushed, but I'll stick with the big guy for starters.

You're right. My imitation of Christ is a poor one.

How about you?

... How about you?

I'm His warrior. By the way, an example is not someone to imitate, it is someone to emulate.

"Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ."

'Imitate' and 'emulate' mean exactly the same thing.

Nice translation. So, is your imitation of Paul imitating Christ something in which you feel deficient? Emulate is synonymous with imitate, but imitate is synonymous with mimic and parody. I'm being pedantic, sorry, we each must keep doing the best we can.
