A conservative wants secure borders, a strong dollar, a balanced budget, economic self sufficiency, an actual absolute decrease in federal spending and laws/control, not getting involved in foreign wars, gun control laws to be repealed, etc.

If that's the definition, there is not a single conservative in Washington! Especially not in the White House.
The only true conservatives I see are on FR and among my peers at work. I don't know what's in the water in Wash DC but it turns even the most conservative to the left once they get there. There is some type of brainwashing going on up there, once our politicians get there, they lose sight of all they ran for.
I wish the people could be constantly polled on issues and the congress would be required to vote the will of the people. But as mom used to say, if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.
We didn't elect a conservative. Bush has carried out every liberal program that Clinton would have been skewered for proposing.
As I recall, the only real conservative running was Michael Peroutka, and the message he was trying to get out was almost eradicated by the media.
