Well, let's see, you eliminate the programs and the people aren't eligible for them anymore. Seems fairly straight forward.

OK with me, if it shuts down more unions.

The smell of pomposity and the stench of arrogance permeates your post.

There, but for the grace of God go I.

I encourage you to ponder the Biblical exhortation of "False pride goeth before a fall.

Assume not that tomorrow might find you in circumtstances worse.

Flame away if you wish, I do not care.

don't pay a living wage.

Entry level jobs are not meant to support a family of four.

I know some people would think that they weren't living if they didn't have the money to pay for a cell phone, cable, internet connection, take out food and designer jeans, but many of us lived long portions of our lives without them.

We also lived with air conditioning in our homes and cars.

Go to Bangladesh and Rio if you want to see what a real living wage is.

Just don't work there, if you can make more money elsewhere.

Our Wal-Marts are dirty, and the staff and customers aren't the cream of the crop, but they sure do have low prices. I'm glad they're around.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again.

LAMEST ANTI-WALMART ARGUEMENT EVER!

I always ask, and never get an answer...

What is a fair wage for shelf-stockers and cashiers? $6-8/hr sounds fair to me.

This is just a thinly veiled push for 'Living Wage' legislation wrapped up in anti-Walmart hysteria, which too many freepers buy into unfortunately.

I thought his post was pretty truthful. The fact is, not everybody can have a house and 2 cars. The attempt to make it so is called Socialism. And that leads to NOBODY having a house and 2 cars.

Capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. Socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.

Just because an employer doesn't apy what some interest group arbitrarily defines as "a living wage" doesn't mean that employer is immoral (or, that employees can't in fact get by just fine on less than the above referenced "living wage).

So called "living wage" restrictions are almost invariably the result of situations where some interest group is able to apply leverage way beyond what is proper (e.g., city ordinances in places like San Francisco). It is rediculous to pretend that you can ascertain something like a "living wage".

We signed a petition a few weeks ago to allow Walmart to build a supercenter with a grocery section.

The best store in our town is owned by the mafia and their prices are HIGH, as there isn't much else place you can go.

All those poor Air America employees. They had to get part time jobs at WalMart so they'd be covered by health insurance.

How novel another jealous site, boy this is breaking news. Just think how great Walmart would be with a union, yeah that will help. Keep posting nonsense and you will be considered along with Clinton.

You mean the unconstitutional giveaways? I agree. Get rid of them and the people working for minimum wage will either leave Wal-Mart for a better job or be happy getting paid squat.

Geez, give me a friggin' break. If you don't like the wage, don't work there.

If someone is so frickin' stupid they can't make more than minimum wage it's not my fault. They'll make minimum at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Sears, etc.

No, the bashing is ONLY because they are the big dog.

Move to China and shut the F up.

"Go to Bangladesh and Rio if you want to see what a real living wage is."

Exactly! People have no perspective on economic realities. Not everybody can have a house with a white picket fence. If we tried to make it so, we would all end up far poorer. People resent the capitalist system because it leads to inequality, but they don't realize that it's the capitalist system that allows us to live on what we deem a "living wage" in the first place.

The value of the work is what the value of the work is. The market says Job A pays Wage A. If you want to make Wage B, you have to acquire job skills that will entice the owner of Job B to hire you.
