John Kasich to oppose DeWine?
Sean Hannity Program | May 27, 2005Hannity | Zechariah11

Posted on 05/27/2005 2:11:04 PM PDT by Zechariah11

On the Sean Hannity Program today there was serious discussion that former Congressman John Kasich could challenge Senator Mike DeWine in next year's Republican primary in Ohio. Besides being a former congressman Kasich is known as a fill-in host of Fox News Channel.

It's because he ran for President in 2000.

And Lieberman, Kerry and Kucinich all resigned too, just because they ran for President?

I still think there's something up with Kasich and Condit; they were best buds until Chandra was popped by Condidit's friends.

We'd have a rerun of PA 2004, with Specter and Toomey..

Hadn't looked at it from that angle. Except Pennsylvania is much more liberal therego a Spector win....Ohio isn't so I don't know if that would be as much of a factor. But thanks for your insight!

I know! He said when he ran for the first time that he believed in term limits and when he was voted in for a second term, he reminded everyone that he believed in term limits and this would be his last term. People begged him to reconsider but he kept his word. He served his two terms with honor and I hope he really is considering running against DeWine!

I think that the reason that Kasich gave was to spend more time with his family.

rather that a primary fight could cost Blackwell the statehouse.

I don't think Blackwell is going to win the governorship. He will not likely win the primary.

Betty Montgonery has essentially signed up the Ohio team George Bush used in 2004. A number of the full time and most of the volunteer Bush people in Ohio have been signed up by Betty. Blackwell will have to beat that team and I don't think he can.

I contacted Blackwell's campaign by email, and got a form email asking for money. Betty's people contacted, me invited me to a get together with her here in Chillicothe. She has over 50 volunteers signed up in Ross County and they were all at the meeting. Except for one or two people it was the Ross County Bush team meeting to donate money and support Betty Montgomery. She spent 15 minutes talking to me and asking for my support. Blackwell sent me a form email.

Montgomery has had a committee formed in everyone of Ohio's 88 counties for three months. She even has the endorcement of Summit County Republicans. She has the best people in nearly every county signed up to work for her.

Blackwell is still laying low. It is a terrible mistake. With Montgomery having the best grass roots people signed up, Petro and Blackwell are way behind.

I figure it will take 2000 votes to win the primary here in Ross County. I did a quick count of the party workers at Betty's Ross County meeting. Betty has signed up people whom I figure will directly produce between 1700 and 1800 votes on primary election day. She needs media to pick up 200 votes to win Ross County. The other two need media and personal appearances to produce 2000 votes. I don't think Radio and TV spots plus personal appearances can do it.

Politics, as Karl Rove proved, is GRASS ROOTS. As far as I can tell Blackwell has not done much to organize the grass roots. I hope he can But I doubt if he can catch up.

Well .. that's what he says .. but who knows. These people all lie so much about what they really believe - how can you ever know the truth BEFORE you're stuck with them for years.

I am so glad to read a review of Kasich by someone who knows what kind of politicians he is...if he is as you say, then I am in..

But, I have watched him on Fox since he has had the show, and I have gotten the "impression" that he is sort of a social liberal...that my be his TV persona, though, rather than a representative or senator persona...I hope so!!

Hannity had Graham on his show a couple times this past week. Sean falls in love with his guests, no matter what political persuasions they are. He's gotta learn to get over these infatuations.

The liar Lieberman is like his brother, ugh.

OMG, my husband went off the beam last night screaming about Sean with Ted Koppel on his radio show yesterday. how obsequious he was to ted and didn't challenge him AT ALL. you are right, he can be an absolute pansy for fear of offending someone so they don't come on again. i thought he did ok with lindsay graham this week the day after the betrayal, though. i thought he was forthright about how upset everyone was.

Hannity falls in love with guests he even DOESN'T have---

He was making all kinds of excuses for the Runaway Bride, and he has never even met her!!!

You are so right about Scarborough---the longer he has been on MSNBC, the more of a lefty he acts like, and he seems to have become a major Bush hatah, also....

It would be nice to Have Mitt over the K-Twins but I doubt it'll happen. have to give the Governor credit for guts. He has an election in a Liberal state that probably disagree with him on this, and he's doing it anyway.

Is Montgomery conservative?

You say that she has the "grass roots", but its funny, as a Texan, Blackwell is about the only name I have heard about, except the one already in congress, that is...
