This might be the first rational thing the French have done in centuries.

Apparently they did it for irrational reasons having little to do with the EU or the proposed constitution.

I guess it doesn't matter whether you do the right thing for the wrong reasons or the wrong thing for the right reasons.

It matters what you do, at least with the important things.
