Saudi investigates Christ posters

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (UPI) -- A Saudi newspaper said Sunday authorities were investigating complaints posters of a crucified Christ were being distributed to school children.

The semi-official daily al-Watan said Saudis in the western al-Taif region have complained expatriates from an unidentified southeast Asian country were "selling stickers and posters of Christ on the cross to elementary school children."

Unidentified sources told the paper the stickers and posters were being sold by Asian street peddlers at traffic lights and in front of schools.

The sources complained selling these products was contrary to Islamic beliefs Jesus himself was not crucified, but rather someone else who resembled him.

The paper said because young children were the target market for the stickers, "adults have become suspicious."

It added parents have called on authorities to take action against street peddlers to "prevent sedition."

Many need to consider that the Quran is not simply a sacred book for Muslims. It is in fact the actual Constitution of Saudi Arabia.

I have caught a lot of hell for some of the things I have posted on the subject but I think this thread pretty much lends credence to my assertion that Islam is in fact the antagonist of both freedom and liberty.

well history tells us that there WERE many wanderers claiming to be the Messiah in that time period, which is why Jesus would have been met with some skepticsm, until he performed a miracle or two......

it was a fad at the time to claim to be the Messiah

just like it is a fad today to claim one can actually sing well or find one's 15 minutes of fame in the saddest of fashions......

indeed I think there are a few moonbats out there claiming to be the second coming of Christ......dang what if one of those moonbats are telling the truth, judgment day is nigh.....

The Saudis are not our friends. Not even close.

How in the hell do these guys know what happened about 600 years before Mohammed thought to write the Koran? Their stupidity is incomprehensible.

But that's alright; theirs is still the religion of peace.

but why did the Muslims think it was a portrayal of Jesus and not the fictitious other guy?

Word on the street is the posters were autographed, and the Saudis take forgery VERY seriously.

I hope all of you are aware that should HR 288 pass, what we are doing will be classified as a hate crime and we will be prosecuted for slamming the koran and islam. Are you ready for that?

Our first amendment will be gone. That's how they work. Get rid of free speech.

If need be, yes.

I don't intend to follow a law that someday says I must have some sort of mark on my forehead or right hand in order to buy stuff either.

If need be, yes.

What I'm trying to convey is, muslims are able to cry jihad against us, while we will be sent to jail if we say islam is evil.

They are usurping our freedom of speech with help from people like the left and Conyers doing their biding.

The enemy within are fast at work.

I am starting to believe that Islam itself is the anti-Christ.

This is the Surah (3 translations) about the denial of Jesus being crucified. I have never recieved an answer from the Muslims, who was his replacement. As I understand, there is no name of the person, no record, no anything. Just the word of a madman , named Mohammed.

YUSUFALI: That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-
PICKTHAL: And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger - they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain.
SHAKIR: And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the messenger of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure.

and isn't most interesting that they KNOW when someone is distributing leafets of Christ on The Cross, but they are at "a complete loss" as to WHO in The Kingdom might be "radical" Muslim terrorists or supporters of Al Qaeda.
