Freedom is not free-it is extremely expensive, and so very many such as this brave and noble USASOC Soldier, who give all they have to give toward securing the blessings of freedom for everyone else-can never experience those blessings themselves.

I extend my sympathy to his family and to all the military families who have lost loved ones in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. May God hold them in his loving care, now and always. My prayers go up for all of them.

Steve was a good man and loved by a lot of people. My husband and he worked together at Benning a few years back. When we got stationed here at Bragg, they became even closer friends; his wife has become one of my best friends. Our children often played together. Steve had character beyond reproach and would do anything for his family and friends. Please keep his wife and two sons in your prayers and thoughts. He died doing what he wanted to do, but he will be sorely missed.

May G-d comfort and sustain those who mourn.
