Rasmussen Reports ^ | June 6, 2005

More voters in the United States would vote against New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in a presidential election, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 41 per cent of respondents say they would definitely vote for another candidate if the former first lady runs for president in 2008, a four per cent increase since mid-May.

Rodham Clinton—a Democrat—was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2000, defeating Republican Rick Lazio by 12 per cent. She ruled out a presidential bid in 2004. 61 per cent of respondents believe it is very or somewhat likely that Rodham Clinton will be the Democratic nominee in 2008.

On Jun. 1 in an NBC Nightly News interview, former president Bill Clinton declared that his wife has not yet settled on a White House bid, saying, "I am quite confident she has not decided to do that, or, if she has, she hasn’t told me."

Neither of the two major political parties in the U.S. has ever nominated a woman for president. In 1984, New York congresswoman Geraldine Ferraro was Walter Mondale’s vice-presidential nominee in the Democratic ticket.

I think the polls are catching up with reality, IMHO.

It's going to be Hillary vs. Giuliani or McCain.

So...what happened with those very recent stats from USA Today with her getting 33% of conservatives, 88% of liberals, 59% of independents, etc, or whatever those absurd #'s were that they were all bragging about!??

When was the last time anyone saw these two together? Was it at the opening of the Cliton Library or his operation recovery? What a total sham of a marriage.

You really gotta hope the pre-hype polls continue to show solid opposition to Hillary! so she can be dissuaded from running. After the hype machine kicks in, there's no telling what will happen.

I think the polls are catching up with reality, IMHO.

Four percent is pretty much in the noise level of a poll. The wording also makes a huge difference. If the Democrats have someone else in mind you will see negative articles in the lamestream media about her and I'm just not seeing that yet.

One can only hope that the truth will out. How she despises military personnel, how she plans to take your doctor away, how she plans to handle the 'bimbo' problem. We may have to wait until the next election before the press awakes to the elephant in the room.

"We need to worry about the direction of our party."

No need to worry, there will be a Mexican illegal-entrant president elected with an Al Qaeda VP, shortly......thanks to the fine leadership of GWB in securing the borders.

Guiliani and McCain can't beat Hillary easily.Only a true conservative like Mike Pence who can unite social and fiscal conservatives can win in a landslide and put America on the conservative path.

True, we need to concentrate on nominating a real conservative in 2008, but it pays to know what the enemy is up to.

McCain will never win the GOP primary, but there is a chance that in spite he might go as Hillary's VP or 3rd party spoiler. But Giuliani has a good chance of being on the GOP ticket.

Colin Powell is more likely to be the nominee than McCain or Giuliani because he would actually beat Hillary.

Giuliani would be a fine VP choice. Allen/Giuliani is fine with me.
