ORANJESTAD, Aruba - Aruban police arrested three more suspects in the case of the missing American honors student Thursday, the attorney general said.
Attorney General Caren Janssen said police arrested the three men that police had previously questioned and released in the disappearance of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway, an Alabama high school honors student.
She refused to identify the three, but authorities previously have described them as students _ two Surinamese and a native of the Netherlands _ who told police they dropped off Holloway at her hotel around 2 a.m. on May 30. Hotel employees, however, say that security cameras did not record her return.
Janssen said the three were arrested at 6 a.m. She refused to say whether they were connected to the two men already being detained in the disappearance, saying more information would be released later Thursday.
A judge on Wednesday ruled that there was sufficient cause to keep holding two former hotel security guards.
The decision means authorities may hold Nick John, 30, and Abraham Jones, 28, for nearly four months while prosecutors investigate possible murder and kidnapping charges, defense attorneys said. Neither man has been formally charged.
Holloway, of Mountain Brook, Ala., vanished May 30 while on a five-day trip with 124 classmates celebrating their high school graduation on this Dutch Caribbean island.
Police and the FBI kept up their search for Holloway but said a lack of any solid leads was hindering progress. Local officials have asked the FBI to bring in dogs trained to search.
Police and volunteer land searches continued Wednesday with no results, while water searches, also unsuccessful, had been suspended "at this time," police spokesman Edwin Comenencia said.

I can't believe any parent would allow a high school graduate to go on a trip with such "chaperones". Imagine this woman's parents are now wondering why they ever bought into this "graduation present".
Witnesses say that she was seen getting out of the cab with the three men, that she was intoxicated, and that it was one of the black men in the cab, not Joran, who helped her off the ground.
Underage drinking is the norm on these trips, not the exception. Why do you think there are so many 'Girls Gone Wild' videos. It's because they are so easy to make.
Same here. And isn't at least one of them related to Aruba officials? A judge, if I remember correctly. Things are done differently in other countries, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if the first two arrestees were the designated fall guys, so the other ones could go free.
I wouldn't be surprised if a daterape drug is involved--if the sex story is correct. "Unable to resist" isn't the same as "consensual" but to some neanderthals, that doesn't matter.
One story said there were 40 chaperones. Lotta good they did.
I am stil amazed that this is a Senior trip, gee, I might go along with a school graduation trip to Europe I went last year with a group of middle school students, but I would never even imagine a trip to a place like Aruba that still flabberghasts me. Let's see, nightclubs, bars, beaches, young inexperienced teenagers. Not a good combination.

You have got to be kidding.You and I would not do it but their are plenty that would.We have 4 dead high school juniors that died in a car wreck at 5am retuning from a party here in Atlanta last week.
It's about time the 3 original guys were finally detained. They were last seen with her. And there is no evidence that they dropped her off at the hotel. And somehow they remained out of custody while two other men got arrested?????? This does not pass the sniff test. There is a huge cover up going on and shoddy police work.

Only the undynamic trio's word, which I equate with that of klintoon's. Hopefully we will soon see the real deal in this case. I watched the one perp's wife on TV last night, her emotions(facial expressions)and voice inflections to me where not fake. It is possible for his alibli to be true. I hope we have all the answers soon. I would not want any innocent person found guilty for something they did not commit. How ever we have to consider them all perps till the silver lining is exposed. NSNR

Um, why is the mayor of her hometown on LKL? Maybe because her parents are starting to realize just how stupid they were in sending their lovely 18 year old honor student daughter to an UNCHAPERONED foreign country-island-drinking-fest.

Always a probable theory in eliminating suspects. I am out all the time and carry a Glock 23 with a c/cp. My question to you have you ever conducted a crimnal investigation? I have, and discerning what a normal person or a criminal might do helps in solving cases? Maybe, you meant well by your comment, but I do not view it in an enlightening manner. The guy in the picture in Reply #22 does not look black to me, and that is the guy she had previously met and presumedly trusted.
