"How can a country such as this continue to exist in the 21st century?"

If you look at what man did in the 20th Century, it is hard to argue that we are becoming more civilized.

Stalin, Hitler and Chiang Kai-shek would impress even Ivan the Terrible and Tinogen Genghis Kahn.

I wonder if RUTH BADER GINSBERG of the SCOTUS will look at this decision as she loves to look to foreign laws to declare what is "constitutional" for the US.

Iran asked for this crap back in 79 with their "revolution". Let them reap what they sow.

This is why they exist: look at the 'people of Iran', dubbed by Michael Rubin of WEI as the most pro-American in the world. The regime is a totally different entity.

Hopefully the trigger-happy mods wont pull that one. A very disturbing (but NEEDED) pic of reality when people demand Islam.

And we asked for segregation and the KKK - you ask for the same now a days in the US? It's so pathetic that you point fingers for an ideology accepted so long ago.

Why do you persist in making such moronic remarks about Iran? We have explained reality to you many, many times.

Put down the bottle and go to bed.

That's not completely true. Some of the same stories are told, but as if they are remembered stories, not transcriptions.

So how does that make the original comment in any way "not completely true"?

"These people soon will have the atom bomb."

I doubt it. A friend of mine ran a training course in Saudi Arabia on how to off load an oil tanker.

The course was intended to last three months. One year later, not one student had passed.

A friend of his sold a huge computer system to a major Saudi hospital .

Three years later he returned to see how they were doing. They had never tured it on but said they were very happy with the system.

When told it was now outdated, they placed a three million dollar for a new system. It too was never used but impressed visitors.

I doubt we have much to worry about with Iran getting the A -Bomb.

The majority of the Iranians wanting western-friendly reforms are too young to remember 1979 or were not even born. They renounce this evil, horrendous regime and it is incumbent upon Americans to stand with them.

"You forgot Mao."

I know this comment will draw fire but I feel that Mao's attrocities were more the result of stupidity than pure evil.

The Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution killed millions as a result of their failure but the intent was not such.

Chiang Kai-shek, in contrast, murdered an estimated ten million people. In Shanghai, he had tens of thousand beheaded and their heads (in open sided wooden boxes) hung in bunches from every lamp post in the city. I have seen a picture of this and it is quite shocking.

I am no fan of Mao (under statement) but in this case I must admit he was not as great a monster as Chiang.

Best wishes,

David

if the victim of the crime would have been a jew or christian american, they would have dedicated a new mosque to the perpetrator...

There are some things they do a whole lot better than we do and this is one of em.

Ditto. We could use a little of that form of justice here, especially with the recent spat of child abduction/murders in Florida.

If Iranians were Arabs I would agree with you, but they are not. They're Persians.

I think sooner or later they are going to throw off the Mullah's yoke. I hope sooner, but I admit it is taking longer than I expected.

I appreciate your comments, but will have to disagree on Mao, he was purely evil and killed over 30 million of his own people. Some starved to death through bad policies, others were outright killed as potential threats to communists rule. He wasn't some bumbling fool who inadvertently killed his people he calculated their deaths just as much as Joe Stalin.
