No, I cannot, anymore than I can tell myself that the O.J. jury looked at all the evidence and didn't think he was guilty.

You are nothing if not consistent.

You are rude.

I wonder if anyone can have a differing opinion than you without your resorting to the most childish and offensive tactics.

In any case, I'm finished discussing this with you.

seems to me, the people who had all the information necessary to try the case came to the right decision based upon the evidence presented.

I NEVER thought Michael Jackson was guilty. I always thought he was weird and a man who never had a childhood and had his childhood through these children. After all, he never tried to hide his behavior. Child molesters DO.

My husband thought I was crazy and that Jackson was guilty as sin. I called him at work, but he had already heard the verdict. He said "WEll, your boy got off."

I am not surprised at this conservative white jury finding him not guilty. After all, I am a FAR right-wing conservative, throw-the-bum-in-jail and throw away the key kind of gal. I am NOT a Jackson fan, never bought his music and never listened to it if I could help it. I do believe in justice though. No matter what you think, justice was served today.

Hi Howlin... I can't understand why some people are so quick to call upon the mods. You tell 'em!

They had a videotape of the car guy Delorean buying coke and he walked.

Being a celebrity means innocent on all counts.

Let's imagine I get irritated with a desk clerk and throw a phone at him. Will I be treated the same as the Gladiator with the Beautiful Mind? I doubt it.

Or I rough up an airport lady because I am so important? A Kennedy can do it and the problem goes away.

We are suffering from a celebrity culture where the Bold and the Beautiful can do whatever they want. I am disgusted with the verdict but I am not surprised. A California jury thought it was fine to shotgun "the boys'" mother and father while they were watching TV in the den. Yes, there was a conviction later, but why not the first time? I remember. They used their parents' money to buy the legal talent to get them off.

Maybe it shouldn't be relevant but the fact was that the mother came across as a con artist looking for her big score. I happen to believe that she did set Michael Jackson up AND that he did molest the boy. I was hoping for a guilty verdict and no civil award, because I don't think she should profit from pimping her son. It's too bad it did not work out that way, because I think Jackson will do it again, but I am not going to bad mouth the jury. The credibility of the victim and his mother provided reasonable doubt.

Does anyone think He bought the jury or threatned them?

I don't think that the DA screwed up. I think the kind of people that Jackson has hang out with him are the kind that would not be believed. Face it, what kind of parent lets their child sleep with Michael Jackson? Justice was in all likelihood not served today.

I think you're absolutely right. I think other boys will come forward. Sometimes it doesn't hit them til they're in their twenties or thirties.....the denial catches up with them. I also happen to think that Macaulay Culkin was molested. Maybe one day he'll testify against MJ.

.however, a broke, has-been and ignored MJ outside..well, it may be a worse fate.

I am not sure he will be ignored. Once he gains enough weight to get over 100 lbs, who knows, this whole thing may give him some kind of career BOOST. I am still so stunned over these verdicts that I'd believe anything.

Who needs prosecutors? They're all slimeballs. Let's just have defense counsel do both sides of the case from now on.

Or just let ordinary citizens draw straws and do the job themselves. It has to be an easy job, right?

Just hope you're never a victim looking for vindication.

>>>>I really despair at the state of our courts--I'm not sure it's possible to get true, blind justice anymore.

I think you are right to be pessimistic. I do not understand conservatives who rail against the government in many areas but have blind faith in the government when it is represented by a prosecuting attorney.

I agree. But that boundary is coming down, and one day (perhaps in our lifetime) sex with children will be accepted and normal.

I can't help feeling that if they can't convict Jackson, we might as well kiss the judicial system goodbye.

How many children have been done in by him? Dozens? Hundreds? How many more will be abused while jury members get rich from book deals and interviews? Frightening that these amoral people, our neighbors, are representative of jury members.

As wierd as this once darling pop star is, 12 jurors heard the evidence and found him not guilty on THE EVIDENCE PRESENTED. When a person who has scammed others for money sues, they can't be surprised that they aren't believed.

Having said that, I do think that MJ is a pervert and if he was a normal citizen he would have been locked up in a mental institution yrs. ago. But our justice system worked as it should. This case was not strong.
