Liberal Hate Speech: A Case Study
Powerlineblog.com ^ | 6/25/05 | Scott Johnson

My show-business friend writes this evening:

This irrational and virulent hatred radiates from elected officials to all those who elected them. I saw a T-shirt in a Palm Springs shop that said, "So many right-wing Christians, so few lions." Hilarious, n'est-ce pas? Nothing funnier than religious believers being ripped to shreds by wild animals in front of cheering pagans.

I'm intrigued by the liberal furor over Karl Rove's remark about the difference in reactions to 9/11. As my old grandfather used to say, "You throw a stone into a pack of dogs and the one that barks the loudest is the one you hit."

Everything Rove said is absolutely true. I entertained at a 50th anniversary party for a well-known feminist leader about 10 days after 9/11. Much of the liberal elite of the Twin Cities was present. I was wearing a little flag pin that elicited considerable mockery. In a post-performance conversation with 3 prominent DFL activists, they all agreed that 1) America had it coming 2) much of the rest of the world cheered the attacks and that was not a bad thing; 3) the attack was purely a "criminal" matter that required the issuing of indictments, but surely not a war, and finally and most horrifically, a direct quote, "At least we got rid of Barbara Olson."

Like racists who feel free to use the "N" word among themselves, these people felt free to be so frank and unguarded because they absolutely assumed that I shared their worldview. I was so upset I couldn't even EAT, and anyone who knows me knows how serious THAT was. I told them I disagreed completely and left. That was the final straw launching me from my lifelong stint as a Democrat to the Republican party.

I am hoping that it will get much worse for the Dems in '06.
And even worse in '08, and so on . . . .

The time for "dialogue" with such vermin is long since past. They must be smashed.

Maybe I'm being optimistic, but lets hope that Americans wake up before such a drastic circumstance occurs.

Yes, I believe it was a Texan . . .

Of course, we Texans are known to toe a hard line . . .

I've posted this story before on FR, but it is appropriate here:

I teach in a fairly typical high school.

One day at lunch, one of my colleagues was expressing concern that a Bible was prominently displayed in the principal's office.

I said "Geez! It's not like it's Mein Kampf!"

Another (History) teacher and "Deaniac" responded "I would prefer it."

I was the only one in the room who was appalled.

These are dark times my friends...

"and finally and most horrifically, a direct quote, "At least we got rid of Barbara Olson."

Well, it is important to conduct yourself civilly, and learn how to harness your temper and emotions as you grow older. But I believe it is just as important to reserve the right to outrage. To say to oneself, I know what I SHOULDN'T do right now, but if I don't yield to what my heart and soul are demanding right now, this piece of puke will diminish me in a way that is permanent.

If someone had said that to me about the fine and good and lovely Barbara Olson TEN DAYS! after 9/11, there would have been copious amounts of blood on the floor. And that's including even if the heartless, immature mocker had been a woman.

Re: The real kicker is that the left has such a disdain for patriotism in the first place.

Agreed.
Liberals attack our defenders (Our troops) and, they defend our attackers(AQ).

How vile and cowardly they are, getting joy from the death of Barbara Olsen and believing the thousands of others that died that day "deserved it".

I believe the Democrats will lose really big in 06 and there is gonna be a shake up like they have never seen before. In all seriousness, not just my own bias, they really don't have anything to offer. All their "Great Society" programs did, were to create an entitlement society that became dependent upon them.

I will never forget the first time I heard the tape of Lyndon Johnson telling the Dem Senate Leader at the time, that "If we pass this Bill, the Negro's will be voting Democrat for the next 200 years" The Democrats knew what they were doing and it didn't matter to them who they hurt in the process, just as long as they stayed in power.

the left has such a disdain for patriotism

So very true, I see that here in my small town in eastern Washington where there is a move a foot to do away with fireworks on the 4th. That is a sign of that hate I believe; but oh boy you call them on it and they say "Oh no NOT ME I love this country".

They act as if it's alright for them to make nasty comments about a woman fighting cancer but they are up in arms when a non liberal mentions AIDS and homosexuality in the same sentence. The conservatives and the people in the middle will eventually have to join forces to remove the scum of liberalism. It won't be that difficult since the vast majority of liberals are sissies and wimps.

CWII is probably unavoidable..

It's sure going to be a lot more complicated this time...who do we go after? Every loser who's still got a "Kerry/Edwards" bumpers sticker (ok, it's a start...)

But still, conceptually speaking, the divide is almost ambiguous when referring to political beliefs that can't necessarily be defined geographically. I mean, red state/blue states, the divide in many of those states was nearly 50/50.

I guess I'm just thinking it'll will make CWI look like a square dance. On top of that, the Red Chinese and Red Latin America will be salivating over the leftovers...

oh well, 2:00AM ramble /off

My favorite bumper sticker: Democrats should be used as crash-test dummies.

Wrong attitude my FRiend: we're better than that! They'd surely attribute their ass-whoopin to your inability to deal with their penetrating insight.

You should just make sure you're standing behind them as they pass by the next long flight of stairs ;o)

I love that $h-t!

It's like they really think calling it "an unpaid, manditory, vacation" instead of a "layoff" should exempt them from having to pay unemployment benefits.

There's nothing I like better than rubbing a liberal's nose in the fact that walking, talking, and swimming like a duck makes it a duck by definition... no matter how hard they "nuance" it.

I've been convinced for a long time....CWII is probably unavoidable..

Naah. As soon as they figure out the military/police will be offered the choice of staying out of it, or suffer the same treatment as the traitors, the other side will fold like a bad hand, because surely they know they can't defend themselves.
