RULINGS ON MONDAY?
A look at the remaining cases of the Supreme Court's term:
TEN COMMANDMENTS: The constitutionality of Ten Commandments in public buildings and on government property, under the First Amendment's ban on an ''establishment'' of religion.
FILE SHARING: Whether the entertainment industry may sue technology manufacturers over consumers who use their products to steal music and movies online.
INTERNET ACCESS: A test of the tight control cable companies hold over high-speed Internet service in a case that will determine whether the industry must open up its lines to competitors.

So is MS File and Printer sharing / Netware shares / etc illegal? What about most Internet applications?
Oh, OK. I guess I got one right! ;^)
It's only natural that after years of getting kicked in the teeth by politicians of all stripes, many lose interest thinking their votes don't make a difference anyway. It makes for a huge wave of apathy. Sadly, that's when we get more crazies elected by more crazies. I don't know what the answer is, but it is sickening and heartbreaking to watch the death & destruction of our beloved country led by the highest court in the land.
Thanks! I hadn't thought they had ruled on TX yet.
I doubt if even bookies would give odds on what this court will do
Sad, sad, sad. They can't even get one ruling right. I can't believed they overturned betamax.
Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist announced the second decision, finding no constitutional violation in the display of the Ten Commandments on the grounds of the state capitol building in Austin, Texas.
Fox: Texas 10 Commandments display is permitted
10 COM are allowed in TX
All those cuts on my hands and knees from that broken glass and so little to show for it
What makes this case diffrent from the KY one?
thanks for peeking in. I have already had breakfast and didn't want to chance losing it. ;=)
Thanks for the info! I haven't checked FOX (other then their brief breaking news email). I got my info from SCOTUSblog. I hope it is just KC.
The Supreme Court recessed for the summer Monday morning, with no announcement from Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist of his plans to retire or to remain on the Court. The day's session after the announcement of six final rulings.
I'm sorry friend. BUT (if it helps) there have been Supreme Court rulings in the past that are being changed (Roe vs. Wade). I just hope these don't take as long as Roe.
you can have the 10 commandments OUTSIDE, but not inside??????
Your thinking too logically. You need to down a few beers and then think of the worst possible decision you can come up with. Then you well be thinking like the old goats in the Supreme Court.
SCOTUS adjurnes. No retirement announcements from the bench (but that wasn't expected, anyway).
Chief Justice Rehnquist announced the second decision on a religious display, finding no constitutional violation in the placement of a Ten Commandments monument on the grounds of the state capitol building in Austin, Texas. That decision was widely splintered. Announcing the votes of the various Justices, Rehnquist quipped -- to widespread laughter -- that he did not know there were so many Justices on the Court.
