It's things like that which makes me consider going 3rd Party, even though it'll serve to bring in dims. I'd rather be stabbed in the gut than the back.

It's only natural that after years of getting kicked in the teeth by politicians of all stripes, many lose interest thinking their votes don't make a difference anyway. It makes for a huge wave of apathy. Sadly, that's when we get more crazies elected by more crazies. I don't know what the answer is, but it is sickening and heartbreaking to watch the death & destruction of our beloved country led by the highest court in the land.

I doubt if even bookies would give odds on what this court will do

Sad, sad, sad. They can't even get one ruling right. I can't believed they overturned betamax.

I just checked. Based on what comments there are so far: pleased about 10 Commandments, downright giddy about the Plame reporters, and against the Grokster file-sharing & BrandX internet decisions.

thanks for peeking in. I have already had breakfast and didn't want to chance losing it. ;=)

I'm sorry friend. BUT (if it helps) there have been Supreme Court rulings in the past that are being changed (Roe vs. Wade). I just hope these don't take as long as Roe.

So far I've predicted every single decision expected today wrong. LOL My track record's never been remotely so abysmal.

Your thinking too logically. You need to down a few beers and then think of the worst possible decision you can come up with. Then you well be thinking like the old goats in the Supreme Court.

SCOTUS adjurnes. No retirement announcements from the bench (but that wasn't expected, anyway).

Chief Justice Rehnquist announced the second decision on a religious display, finding no constitutional violation in the placement of a Ten Commandments monument on the grounds of the state capitol building in Austin, Texas. That decision was widely splintered. Announcing the votes of the various Justices, Rehnquist quipped -- to widespread laughter -- that he did not know there were so many Justices on the Court.
