Every once in a while, something hits your desk and makes you wonder whether there really isn't an argument to be made for book burning.

Edward Klein's "The Truth About Hillary" — ... Prurient in its focus, shameless in its methodology and vile in execution, this volume is a near-perfect example of what has come to be called "bio-porn," a particularly noxious subgenre of the polemic literature that nowadays infests our bestseller lists.LP>[snip]... The way to handle "The Truth About Hillary" responsibly is to give it no further notice, no wider discussion.

Silence.

If the serious media can't draw the line on this one, then there no longer are any lines to draw.

Wonder if this op-ed writer had the same things to say about some of the stuff written about Bush.

No? Didn't think so.

Exactly. This is a pro-Hillary book probably commissioned by her as step 1 in the next campaign.

Klein is a vital part of the Hillary campaign. I always thought from the beginning he is part of the "fix." He is a passionate liberal and they never "truly" betray their cause. His book is perfect cover for her. He it lying when he states he doesn't think she should be President. The Hillary gang has been planning her rise to power since Bill left office. They are covering every damn angle to leave nothing left to chance. It will take a miracle for any Rep to beat her. The MSM will portray her as the savior of this land. The Klein book is garbage because it was written for one and only one reason - to help Hillary become President. Klein is part of the evil-left.

Their audacity takes my breath away. After all the perversion that liberals spew out on society, LA Times actually complains about something being "sordid".

Image hosted by Photobucket.com if you want to expose the True Beast, obtain and publish her "Thesis" that has been under_litteral_Lock and Key since it was written, if any copies even still exist that is...

I agree, to paraphrase Shakespear " the Lady doth protest too much".

If it is all lies, why keep it in the public eye, don't worry BroomHilda the truth will set you free.

And that's exactly how book burning starts...

I might be inclined to grant Mr. Ruttin a bona fides of his "review" of Klein's expose of Hillary if he had dealt with even one serious allegation made against her. But he did not.

We have been down this road before with the liberal press. Do you remember the treatment of the Swift Boat Vets? It was much the same, the vets were blackguarded personally but the substance of their charges against Kerry went largely unremarked. Freepers are knowledgeable and can cite chapter and verse of substantiated and focused allegations which went unanswered by the Kerry camp. The entire defense was conducted by the elite media who largely confined themselves to attacking the vets personally.

The media has developed a devastating tactic which they employed against the vets and no doubt will use with some effectiveness against Klein. That is, with the passage of time they simply assume that history has sustained their view, and even recite falsely that contemporary news accounts during the election campaign exposed the vets to be liars. I have heard this said more than once on national television.

So they attacked the messenger and ignored the merits, and then claimed victory.

How terribly and chillingly like the the treatment the media meted out to:

Gennifer Flowers

Kathleen Wiley

Juanita Broderick

Dorothy Kyle Browning

Monica Lewinsky.

The technique worked against Gennifer Flowers even though she had audio tapes. It nearly worked against Monica until she produced DNA. Small Wonder it worked against poor Juanita Broderick who had nothing but the truth.

There is every reason to believe the methodology will triumph one more time for Hilary.

I'm no "serious player" (and who is saying the book is "unsupportable"?) but I read it in one bite Saturday: large print, very short chapters.
Lot of anonymous sources toward the end, but recall what happened to Clinton critics in the `90s. (e.g. American Spectator: IRS audit) and ask, if he called you, would you really want to make her enemies list?
The photo of her Heinous in her Wellesley dorm, shoe-horned into striped, stinking-hippie jeans made the book worth the purchase price.
But there were a lot of valuable points: how much like (her conception of) Nixon she really is. Her driven childhood as a two-fisted Daddy's girl. Her college ambition and friendships. Her bizarre `open marriage'. Her loathing of being pitied. Do you really need reminding that she plays for keeps and doesn't take prisoners? Know your enemy. Whether this book does it, gee, the guy used to write about the Kennedys . . .
Do the conservative thing. Ignore the LA Times and "serious players (on the right)", read it and think for yourself.
Hildebeast used-up her `get out of jail free' victim card a long time ago. We're doing what should have been done with her 'better half' in `89, `90 and `91 and here the truth doesn't set the left free: it drives them crazy.

The way to handle "The Truth About Hillary" responsibly is to give it no further notice, no wider discussion.

Silence.

Then why post a link to a review of such trash on FR?

I thought this was the stuff liberals cataloged as free speech?

The way to handle "The Truth About Hillary" responsibly is to give it no further notice, no wider discussion.
I also thought liberals were all for open debate?

If the serious media can't draw the line on this one, then there no longer are any lines to draw.
The lines no longer exist because liberals have pushed them over the cliff.

funny... they can dish it out, but sure as hell can't take it

Nathan, thank you.

You have performed a service to us all by succinctly defining "the technique" the MSM and Libs use hand-in-hand and soooo effectively!

this book is a trojan horse.

its mission is to convince the average person that nothing they've heard about hillary is true.

hillary emerges with a clean slate.

For a book of "fiction" they sure are in a panic.

The best course of action would be for them to refute the charges made in the book. Unless, of course, they can't.

Then again, they could call for an old-fashioned book burning.
