These people are flaming, absolute idiots. They in no way reflect anything related to Southern Baptist teachings and I've been one for a long time. Sounds like these people need a good teeth loosening. I'd be glad to accomodate them. Incredible...I don't know what this dimwit of a preacher hopes to accomplish by preaching a false doctrine, but I know what the ramifications of doing so is!
Protesters in '70 and '71 (and other years) were protected from vets by SPs and MPs and got away with behavior that today would result in assault charges. But the cops turned a blind eye.

I'm an hour North and do have a bullhorn for rent (cheap) - no real plans for the 4th - we normally hunker down for the big holiday weekends and try to stay off the roads. Of course James Stewart was braver than that so keep me posted.

He is truly in my prayers.
Last week, I posted a thread about an old friend of mine from MA who was killed in Iraq. This crazy group was threatening to picket his funeral as well.
I am so sorry I don't have more information at the moment on what actually happened at his funeral. My dear Dad has not been well this week. I haven't wanted to bring it up with him, as this breaks his heart to talk about, being an old Marine himself.
I am so sorry this hatred exits in this world. It is beyond comprehension to me. These people have no soul.
My thread was titled "Marine Kin Brace For Pickets." The story didn't mention what message this crazy group was bringing to the funeral though.
This is totally repulsive. Evil finds many sources to rear its ugly head. I hope this bunch is again "convinced" to leave the area before the family sees them.
