Yes, the bombers were right(1/4 UK Muslims feel so)

LONDON: Around a quarter of Muslims in Britain sympathise with the motives of the London bombers, while some six per cent are even ready to support those who carry out such attacks, a survey said on Saturday.

As Britain is reeling under the impact of two terror attacks within a fortnight, 88 per cent of British Muslims who participated in the survey in the "Daily Telegraph" said they clearly have no intention of justifying the bomb blasts.

But, around six per cent of the participants in the survey opined the bombings were justified and some 24 per cent said they have sympathy with the feelings and motives of those who carried out the attacks.

A substantial majority -- 56 per cent -- said whether or not they sympathise with the bombers, they can at least understand why some people might want to behave in this way.

Asked whether they agree that the ideology of the bombers was "perverted and poisonous", 58 per cent of the respondents said "yes", while around 26 per cent were relucant to be so dismissive, the survey said.

On the crucial loyality question, 46 per cent of the participants said they feel "very loyal to Britain, 33 per cent felt "fairly loyal", while 18 per cent said they have little loyality towards the country.

A huge majority of the participants felt that western culture was not perfect, but are ready to live with it rather than trying to bring it to an end.

Around 56 per cent said Muslims should live with it (western society) and not seek to bring it to an end, while nearly 32 per cent termed the culture "decadent and immoral" and opined that Muslims should seek to bring it down.

Let's stop pretending that islam is "just another religion, with a few bad apples."

Even if the other three-quarters of British Muslims do not believe that terrorism is justified, they can't be trusted, because their ultimately loyalty remains to Islam and not to Britain.

Well, for a long time England has existed without having a muslim community. For some reason it has been called "ye olde merry England". I am not sure that "merry" name is just a coincidence, and tend to see a causal link.

I don't care what they say, they are brought up with the notion that the west is bad and Islam should be the only religion. They are taught this their entire lives. That is why they just can't totally go against their fellow Muslims, no matter how bad they are. They simply just cannot do it.

"A substantial majority -- 56 per cent -- said whether or not they sympathize with the bombers, they can at least understand why some people might want to behave in this way."

Let's see... a substantial majority can understand why some people might want to: set off powerful bombs in order to blow themselves apart into bloody hunks of flesh, kill totally innocent people they do not know, destroy any chance that their families can live peaceably in their adopted country, and completely poison relations between that nation's native majority and their specific minority immigrant ethnic group. All this while almost guaranteeing the failure of any political cause they are "fighting for." Well, sure.. who couldn't understand that?

"They simply just cannot do it."

Every bit as difficult as replying truthfully to polls conducted by their perceived enemies, too, no doubt.

I think that if push comes to shove, Muslims will not stand shoulder to shoulder with their fellow Brits against other Muslims. The same is true with Muslims in this country. Blood is thicker than water.

Shove some rockets up their "allah holes" and let them enjoy the incomparable "Jihadi Ski Jump."

Good flippin' riddance.

I'm not upset by these results. They sound like fairly reasonable numbers, and about what I'd expect.

You will never get 100% agreement from any large group on any issue. If you ran a poll in this country asking whether the aliens from "War of the Worlds" were justified in invading earth, you'd probably get a higher percentage than 6% who said "Yes". Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if at least 6% of the population actually believed it had happened!

Add to that the fact that some poll respondents like to lie, just because they hate pollsters, and that other poll respondents just didn't understand the question. Then add in the statistical standard deviations, incompetent employees asking the questions and noting down the answers, etc. When all is said and done, 88% agreement on anything is a surprisingly high number.

I wonder just how accurate is any survey from members of a cult that requires lying to the infidels in order to survive as part of their practice. I'm sure they all received their marching orders from their Immams or whatever.
