NEW YORK-Lauren Bacall tells TIME Tom Cruise is not a great actor. "When you talk about a great actor, you're not thinking about Tom Cruise," Bacall says.
"His whole behavior is so shocking. It's inappropriate and vulgar and absolutely unacceptable to use your private life to sell anything commercially, but I think it's a kind of sickness."
You're so right...and one actress who was positively evil was Bette Davis. It's amazing her reputation has withstood all the absolutely horrible things she did in her personal life. You have to be one incredibly talented person for your legacy to remain intact after having the kinds of revelations as she has had.
Her son is a chip off the ole block.
Don't forget, in practically every Tom Cruise movie, there will be a scene where he sprints--maybe a block, maybe a mile, but he's gonna sprint. Must be proud of his running ability.
I've read her posts for years and they still don't make any sense at all!
It's too bad that people must act so ugly. Wonder why psychiatrists and psychologists like to believe that everyone's born so "good" and everyone just "learns" to be bad; it's quite evident human nature isn't very good at all.
It would be interesting to see how he would hold up MINUS the testosterone and steroid supplements. Less jumping on sofas and other tantrums from steroid abuse perhaps.
You know how to whistle, don't you steve? You just put your lips together and blow...
I LOVE Classic hollywood when it was all left up to the imagination. Now THAT was sexy.
Bette Davis was a very complex person; part good, part not so good. But she was one of THE greats, when it comes to acting.
Don't forget the E in her last name. ;-) She is one of my favs too and is in two of my top 5 favorite Cary Grant movies- THE AWFUL TRUTH and MY FAVORITE WIFE. Both are still HILARIOUS today and not to be missed!
Well Hollywood can be recreated and we should return to making great movies.
Grace Kelly was a notorious slut/sleep around with anyone, in her Hollywood days.
I agree.
Tom Cruise is no Humphrey Bogart, that's for sure.
The Last Samurai???????????????What are you on, crystal meth? That moronic statement is sufficient to ban you from this forum for life. DC Comics??????
"In the more severe cases, something almost like Tourette's occurs with poopoo jokes, naughty sexual innuendo, etc"
So Neal Boortz has tourettes? He's always dropping poop and fart jokes and naughty sexual inuendo's during his radio show. I think Cruise is just plain hyper-manic as seen on Oprah, bouncing off the couch like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh.
Exactly how many times have you kissed him? How did you kiss him? And where did you kiss him? Please, don't put sugar onyour cereal, your syrupy sweetness for Cruise is overwhelming......................!
Oh heavens, how he could not have won an Oscar for each of those blockbusters..............I assume you also know his thong size by the smell of it!
I noticed that too. Every TC movie has him doing a sprint. All his movies are cookie cutter formulas. Short Ken doll doing his Elvis is a race car driver, cowboy, bartender, etc., etc.,
I also really liked Lauren Bacall in To Have and Have Not--she was only 19 in that film--and she is really elegant--she even sings with Hogie Carmichael and does a little sexy strut at the end of the film--her and Bogie sure had chemistry on their side. Bogie and Walter Brennan round out the cast.
Eh, I think that she's gotten way more mileage than she deserves out of hanging on to Humphrey Bogart as a young woman. Lauren Bacall was never a great actress, and has benefited from surviving everyone else.
It's kind a like bill & hitlery!!!
