But I gather it was mostly Republicans that made up those four Congressional districts that moved to the Sun Belt (like me).

I think many of the 84 Reaganites(or their kids) in Oakland County left the state.(and those that didn't went to Livingston and Lapeer counties). I read over 1/2 of Oakland circa 1984 left the county.

Nugent doesn't have much of a chance. His mouth will PO the Christian right as much as the liberals. He'll be the Geoff Fieger of the GOP if he runs, sorry to say.

I think we have a shot with the bad economy here. Granholm and Stabenow haven't done jack to help the economy - and the pro-abort views of both of them, and Stab's gun grabbing record(and Granholm wanting it both ways) makes it a triple whammy for them.

We just need good candidates, or to develop a good one in the next year. I think Keith Butler (sleeper) may be one, especially if Candice Miller runs at the top of the ticket. Terri Land (Sec of State) is a West Sider who can add balance, and Mike Cox can get the Wayne County burbs on board.

I'm not from OH--anyone know if the uncounted districts favor Democrats or Republicans?

Not that it matters, seeing how many people voting for Hackett probably think they are voting for a Republican.

"I can name a candidate who lost a house seat, became a governor, and then became president . . . his initials are GWB . . ."

And I can name a second one, Bill Clinton.

Judging by similar comments on this thread, it is far more significant if democrats loose in this race than if the democrats win.

IOW as a "party" the democrat party is now showing overt collapse. What do they have left to achieve a "win"?

Of course it does. The cold coils take the water out of the air as 'dew', just like your cold drink, and dump it down the drain. If you ever get a blockage in the water drain from your central AC, you'll know about it!

Your schtick is gettin old. Thw wussy Tom Brinkman doesn't even have the stomach to execute the worst society has. If that doesn'r qualify him as a RINO, then there is no such thing. It is amazing how he must be the one true Republican because at one time or another his moronic crap has pissed off every person of any stature within the party. His political career is as successful as it will ever be and you know it. So say what you will about Jean Shmidt, she made it a lot further than Tom Traficant...err I mean Brinkman.

I agree 100%. I bet Brinkman would have been at 58%, 59% in the election minimum, even if the Democrats still pour in, what, 1 million total?

Now, McEwen had some ethical issues of his own, and DeWhine we all know about, so I doubt they would have done much better than Schmidt. In fact, I'm pretty sure that DeWhine would have lost to Schmidt. His daddy's RINO-ism would have done him a whole lot of good there.

Bob Taft should resign and put Ohio Republicans out of their misery.

It worked in Connecticut with Jodi Rell. With Rowland resigning a year ago, she still has 80%+ approval ratings.

No, it doesn't....

Living in Cincinnati, there are plenty of times where the high humidity can be felt in the house.

Nothing wrong with the air conditioning...

There will be a recount. Bet on it. The dems will call this an irregularity.

Apparently the remaining precincts are in her home county, where she was winning 54-46 so far.

Thank you.

I'm really enjoying how the DUmmies seem to think this is somehow a special presidential election.
