Well since the shuttle landing was scapped this morning due to the weather. Well second time is the charm.

Is that the first time you've heard it?

I think it's the wing design and the fact that the shuttle is going WAY faster than a commercial jet would be at touchdown.
Not sure though.

*grumble*
The biggest frickin' homing pigeon in the world just came back again. Woke me up with the double booms. Thought this bird was going to Florida this time, for sure...
Oh well. I'll perk a pot of coffee and lift it up in cheer for a mission well done, but wish I knew ahead of time so I could have gotten into the car and drove over to the landing strip.
Good job, pilot, looked like a great landing.

I just fought with my 9 year old about this. I told him to put of Fox so we can see the shuttle land and tried to explain to him the importance of this event. He said it is crap and he would rather watch a rerun of Drake and Josh.
I am pulling both my kids out of public school and get them home schooled.

We never heard any booms here.. We're too far north and east of Edwards, I guess.

Took a lot of guts for these folks to take that ride. I am proud of them and the NASA team

Don't know if C-SPAN two will stay with NASA but if you have NASA TV, they will eventually show the landing about a dozen more times from different camera angles.

Thank you Lord. That last 3 miles took only 20 seconds or so.
Somewhere over 500MPH by my calculations.
