Dick Morris! wrote today nypost that Pirro could force Hillary to back out...
To: freedrudge
I'll believe it when I see it. That power-mad woman wont give up anything. She and her husband are solely driven by one thing: Power. Bill is spent, so that only leaves Hillary. She will stay in the Senate race and the NY Times will help her win easily.

Hillary has always been protected by the press and by softball questions from interviewers. She wasn't seriously challenged by Lazio in the debates. This time around, however, the contrast between Hillary, with her "ums" and "you knows", and the articulate and quick-thinking Pirro, will be striking.

I hate to agree with Morris but he has always been dead on with Hillary. She will not risk losing. It is not in her vocabulary.

While I'm all for unseating Hillary, I have a hard time getting excited about a "pro-guncontrol, pro-affirmative action..." RINO.

Obviously, if Hillary runs and wins, she increases her chances...if she runs and loses, she decreases her chances...
NY is a blue state, so any generic D is favored over any generic R. Yes, Lazio did run poorly, but it had been thought that Giuliani would be the nominee.
In short, I do not expect Hillary to back down.

I hate to agree with Morris but he has always been dead on with Hillary. Morris repeatedly predicted (back in 2000) that Hillary wouldn't even run for the Senate. His prognostication recored is downright embarrassing.

if she runs and loses, she decreases her chances.. If she runs and loses, she's toast. It's all over.
How can she possibly beat a Republican in a general election if she can't even beat a Republican in a Democrat stronghold?

This is the kind of candidate who can get under Hillary's skin. A real woman with real accomplishments.

Hillary used the "but I'm a girl" tactic against Lazio. Whenever Lazio asked her some tough questions, she acted like he was an abusive male or something. Then he actually walked over to her and handed her a pledge sheet to sign during their debate. The next day all her supporters and all the press ridiculed Lazio for trying to bully and intimidate her. He was using his machismo to intrude on her delicate personal space, we were told. Oh, poor, poor little Hillary! Oh woe is she to have to face such a macho caveman as Rick Lazio, she being so delicate and all.
Well, at least they won't be able to pull that crap against a female opponent. Not only that, but any real woman will be more feminine than Hillary.

A superior candidate such as Pirro unfortunately does not mean much as far as winning a liberal state such as NY is concerned; however, I agree that Hillary can be put over a barrel when her previous winning margin is cut in half, as is quite possible against Pirro. As Dick Morris points out, it will create a great question to put to Hillary: "How do you account for winning reelection by half the margin you originally received?" She will have no acceptable answer.

Hehehhehe..it's gonna be a cat fight..MEOW!! Claws and all! Unfortunately, the mediaWHORES will come to the SHE-DEVIL's rescue! I don't believe for one minute New Yorkers would mind it very much if THE BEAST would only serve half of her senate years if she is reelected. They would expect nothing less from her. I guarantee you NYorkers would send her off the presidential campaign trail with a ticker tape parade!! Anyway, she'll be doing it for the little CHILLLLFREEEEENNN you know!
To: gov_bean_ counter
At the very least she should be able to force Hillary to spend more money than she intended and take stands on issues that can be used against Hillary in 2008.

Indeed - although that should not be the goal you shoot for - victory is the goal.

There was a golf tournament fund-raiser for Sandler O'Neill, which was a company that lost 80 employees on 9/11. Mayor Giuliani was there, a number of people. It's a fund-raiser for the families of the employees who died at that firm, Jimmy Dunn puts it on.
Between insurance funds and donations I thought the families each received 100s of thousands of dollars in settlement money - if not more.
